Green Don Byers Dies at Home of His Daughter

Green Don Byers, aged 74, of Knobel.  Greene and Clay County landowner and retired farmer, died at 6:45 Sunday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs. Rena Wood, at Gainesville, following an illness of two weeks due to colitis.   He was a native of Gainesville and was well known in this section. Funeral services and burial were conducted at two yesterday afternoon at Gainesville cemetery.  The Rev. M. L. Edrington, Methodist minister, officiated. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lelia Boykin Byers; seven daughters, Mrs Rena Wood and Mrs Burrel Rogers of Gainesville, Mrs Elmer Harris of Stonewall, Mrs. William Box, Mrs. Adolph Border and Miss Robin Byers of Knobel and Mrs. William Davidson of Rogers; three sons, Thurlo. J. Byers of Gainesville, John Byers and Don Byers Jr. of Knobel: 38 grandchildren and 12 great grand children.

Mollie Robinson Thomason

Mrs. Mollie Thomason, aged 79, died at two o'clock this mornng at the home of her daugher, Mrs. Stanley Newsom of Whisp, following an illness of two weeks due to asthma and heart trouble.  She was a native of NC but had been a resident of Greene Co. since she was four years of age (during Civil War), residing in the Liberty Community. She was the widow of R.T. Thomason, who died about 12 years ago. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 o'clock tomorrow from Clark's Chapel and burial will be made in Clark's Chapel cemetery.  Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Newsom, Mrs. Lee Stone and Miss Nora Thomason, all of Whisp, and Mrs. Arthur Pace of route six; and one son, John Hampton, of St. Louis; 18 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Family notation:

Mollie Robinson Thomason passed away  December 5,1938. Interment Clark's Chapel Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard T. Thomason, daughter, Sarah Frances Thomason Branch and her parents Henry E. and Christena Shupping Robinson.
