Obituaries For 1968

Paragould Daily Press, Thurs., Dec 26, 1968 , Death of Jasper Byrd
 

Jasper A Byrd, 79, 808 Rector Road , died Monday at his home.

He was a native of Missouri but had been a Greene County resident for the past 50 years.  Byrd was a retired plumber, painter and paper hanger.  

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Opal Byrd, two sons, Clarence, Jackson, Miss., and Tommy, Imperial, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. Lottie Morgan, Dobbin, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Bessie Hinton: 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Wednesday in the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. J. W. Gibbs, Burial was in Linwood Cemetery by Mitchell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ruby W Harness

Mrs. Ruby W Harness, 61, Marmaduke, died Saturday Sept. 21, at the Community Hospital.

Survivors include her widower, Ed Harness; one daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Farmer, Marmaduke; one brother, Dolph Barnhart of Corcoram, California; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted today at the General Baptist Church in Marmaduke, George Ward officiated.

Burial was in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of the Heath Funeral Home."

 

 Leonard A. Goebel

July 16, 1909 ~ Nov 30, 1968


Leonard A. Goebel, 59, Oak Grove Community, died Saturday at the Community Methodist Hospital. He was a native of Ridgeway, Ill. and a concrete contractor.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Agnes Okle Goebel; four sons, Larry of Ft. Hood, Tex.,Adrian of East St. Louis, Ill., Leon Maxwell, Houston Tex., and David Goebel, Paragould; seven daughters, Mrs. Agnes Ligon, Little Rock, Mrs. Josephine Lampkins, Blytheville, Mrs. Phyllis Laramore, Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Helen Rogers and Mrs. Jeanne Diffee, both of Nrth Little Rock; and Miss Martha Goebel of the home; his father, Nicholas T. Goebel Sr. of St Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Clement Goebel, Nicholas T. Goebel Jr., both of East St. Louis, Ill.
Mr. Goebel is also survived by five sisters, Mrs. Winona Davis, Parma, Mo., Mrs. Cathern Maxwell, Mrs. Helen Dimenvele, and Mrs. Agnes Zinser, all of St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs Ida Marie Hobbs, East St. Louis, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren.
A rosary was said at the Heath Chapel Sunday night and Mass held in St. Mary's Catholic Church this morning with Father Bernard Malone officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
