William Eugene White

1918~1983

William Eugene White, 79, of Rt. 1 died Tuesday, September 27, 1983 at Arkansas Methodist Hospital. A native of Greene County, Mr. White was a member of Clark's Chapel Baptist Church and a retired employee of Singer Co. in Trumann.

Surviving are his wife, Martha Lee Carter~White; a son, Bill White of Guam Air Force Base; six sisters, Selma Highfill, Alvie White, Ruth Shoopman and Dorothy Smith, all of Paragould, Geraldine Bentz of Batesville and Bernice Holland of Buckner, Mo.; and one grandchild.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Luther and Emma Bibb White.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mitchell Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. C.E. Moses and Wilbourn Griggs officiating. Burial will be at Clark's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ervie Jordan

Ervie Jordan, 77, of Marmaduke died Thursday, December 8, 1983 at Arkansas Methodist Hospital.

He was born May 5, 1906. He was a lifelong resident of Marmaduke, a mason, a World War II veteran and a retired barber.

Surviving are his wife, Crystalline Jordan; five brothers, Neal Jordan of Paragould, Estel and O.M. Jordan, both of Marmaduke, Levon Jordan of Gas City, Ind., and Junior Jordan of San Antonio, Texas; and a sister Judy Jordan of Marmaduke.

The funeral was Satruday at the Irby Funeral Home chapel in Rector with the Rev. L.L. Bounds and the Rev. Randy Rowland presiding. Burial was at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke.
