SCHOOL CARNIVAL

THINGS REALLY HUMMED ABOUT THE LAKESIDE CAMPUS THE WEEK OF DECEMBER THE SIXTH, FOR ON THAT DATE MEMBERS OF THE FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA CLUB PRESENTED THE FIRST SCHOOL CARNIVAL HELD IN THE NEW BUILDINGS. A LARGE CROWD WAS ON HAND TO WITNESS THE PROCEEDINGS AND ENJOY THEMSELVES.

AT SEVEN THIRTY P.M. A MINISTREL ENTITLED "LAWSY, WOT A NIGHT!" GOT UNDERWAY IN THE AUDITORIUM. THIS MUSICAL BALCKFACE HILARIOM IN ONE SHIVERY ACT KEPT THE AUDIENCE ON EDGE AND JUMPING AT EVERY SLIGHTEST NOISE. AS FAR AS IS KNOWN, NO ONE FAINTED.

REMEMBER THESE? - SHINBONE, Q.T. GARNER; DOORKNOB, TROY DOOLEY; SOCKEYE, PRESTON DREW; CASTAWAY, JOBY ROUSEEAU; MEOW, FOY BATEY; FOGHORN, RANDAL GWYN; HEELHOP, LELAND BLACK; TAILSPIN, JOE LEMMONS; HALFWAY, WELDON RILEY; EDGEWISE, ELVIS SWAFFORD; AND THE TAXIDERMIST, CLYDE STEWARD.

FOLLOWING THE MINSTREL, BINGO WAS PLAYED. MR. EARL KIRK WAS IN CHARGE. SIDESHOWS AND OTHER ATTRACTIONS INCLUDED A CAKE WALK, THE HOUSE OF TERROR, FACULTY GRAVEYARD, FORTUNE TELLER, A MAN ONLY BOOTH AND A WOMAN ONLY BOOTH.

THE PROCEEDS OF THE CARNIVAL WERE USED TO GOOD ADVANTAGE BY THE CLUB; A NUMBER OF PIGS WERE BOUGHT FOR A LOCAL CHAPTER PROJECT, FROM WHICH A HANDSOME PROFIT WAS MADE.
