1940 HONORS

 

     TO STIMULATE ENTEREST IN SCHOOL STUDIES AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES, THE FACULTY LAST YEAR FOR THE FIRST TIME CHOOSE OUTSTANDING BOYS AND GIRLS WHO WERE AWARDED MEDALS FOR LEADERSHIP AND SCHOLARSHIPS.

     LAST YEAR'S WINNERS WERE AS FOLLOWS: OLA BOLING, RECEIVED A MEDAL FOR THE HIGHEST GRADES OF THE SENIOR CLASS.

     WELDON RILEY RECEIVED A MEDAL FOR THE HIGHEST GRADES OF THE JUNIOR CLASS.

     CLYDE STEWARD RECEIVED A MEDAL FOR THE HIGHEST GRADES IN THE SOPHOMORE CLASS.

     A.C. GATLIN RECEIVED A MEDAL FOR THE BEST ALL-AROUND BOY.

     LOUISE McCULLAR RECEIVED A MEDAL FOR THE BEST ALL-AROUND GIRL.

     MEDALS RECEIVED IN 1941 WERE AS FOLLOWS: JEWEL REMEGAN RECEIVED A MEDAL FOR THE HIGHEST GRADES OF THE FRESHMAN CLASS.

     ANNA BELL HOPKINS RECEIVED A MEDAL FOR THE HIGHEST GRADES OF THE SOPHOMORE CLASS; CLYDE STEWARD RECEIVED A MEDAL FOR THE HIGHEST GRADES IN THE JUNIOR CLASS.

     BERNICE WHITE RECEIVED A MEDAL FOR THE HIGHEST GRADES OF THE SENIOR CLASS; TROY DOOLEY RECEIVED A MEDAL FOR THE BEST ALL-AROUND BOY; VIOLA McCULLAR RECEIVED A MEDAL FOR THE BEST ALL-AROUND GIRL.
