BOOTHE or GEORGE I found on the 1880 Arkansas census where my g-grandparents were living in Montgomery County. He was working as a silverminer. His name was Elijah BOOTHE and her name was Emmaline BOOTHE, the spelling of her name could have been Emiline, her maiden name was GEORGE. She had a brother by the name of Jap GEORGE, think the name was probably Jasper GEORGE. According to family stories, she died in June, 1917. She was living near her family. I do not know why or what had happened to Elijah BOOTHE. They had two sons that I know about:the oldest was James Elijah and the youngest was Amgros. The BOOTHE family was from MO. Most of the BOOTHE families moved to TX. Emmaline BOOTHE could have changed her name back to GEORGE. She was born in Illinois in 1851.

1852-1870s Hempstead Co, Missouri Twp, near present day Prescott (before Nevada was formed). A group of families came to Hempstead in 1852 from Lincoln Co,TN and some members of the HAMMON(s)(d) family came to join the TN Hammons from Lafayette Co,MS. Jasper Sanford Hammon b. 1819 in TN, his wife Mary Elizabeth Jones b.1823 TN, they were married in 1842 in Lincoln Co,TN. Mary Elizabeth's brother Sam Jones & her sister Caroline Jones came with them. Sam Jones married Sarah 'Sally' Tyree in Hempstead, Caroline Jones married Thomas Wilson, son of Willis Wilson in Hempstead. The parents of Jasper Sanford Hammon came up from Lafayette Co, MS where they had been living in 1850, they brought 2 of their younger sons with them...others stayed in MS & TN. William Hamon b.1787 in North Carolina married Eve Collins b.1792 in Surry County NC in Dec 1813, then went on to TN after there marriage. Younger sons with them in Hempstead at time of 1860 census were Allen Hammon still at home & William Joseph Hammon who lived by them & had just married Martha Sellers of Hempstead. Jasper Hammons, Thomas Wilson, Sam Jones & most of the rest of Missouri Twp fought for the Confederacy...apparently his younger brother William Joseph Hammon went to IL & fought for the Union. William took his nephew, Jasper's oldest child, Samuel Alexander Hammon age 16/17 with him to fight for the North...Samuel was killed. Any information or connections on any of these families or allied families in Hempstead/Nevada area is of great interest. We have only recently found William Joseph Hammon's descendants-- they knew only about him & some of his other brothers.
