LaChartsie “Chartsie” (Pogue) Wilson Brown
LaChartsie “Chartsie” (Pogue) Wilson Brown, 80, of Oklahoma City, OK, died Sunday, January 15, 2006, at Integris Southwest Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK following a long illness. She was born April 19, 1925 in Carthage, Arkansas to James Knox and Vassie Mae (Cannon) Pogue. She grew up and lived most of her life in Poyen and Malvern, AR.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, homemaker, and foster parent. Her love of children was evident as she adopted a daughter, Wanda and also babysat for many years.

She was a member of the Assembly of God church. She enjoyed going to church, reading the bible, collecting dolls and knick knacks, going to yard sales, talking on the phone, singing, laughing and listening to gospel, country and bluegrass music. She also enjoyed talking to people about her unique name and she felt proud that so many commented on it. The last several years of her life she enjoyed watching her youngest granddaughter, Kaci, enjoy her life and grow. She will be remembered as a kind, compassionate and giving mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include daughters Ellen Hines of TX and husband Milton of Malvern, AR; JoAnn Burrow of Malvern, AR, Wanda Wilson of OK and Deborah Bostwick and husband Mike of OK; five grandchildren, Mike Schoggin, Tony Burrow, of AR, Paul Schoggin, of TX, Robin Burrow, of AR, Jeff Wilson, of OK and Kaci Bostwick of OK; six gr grandchildren and step gr grandchildren, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Drury H Brown, mother Vassie Mae (Cannon) Pogue Hamilton, a daughter Willene Wilson and a brother, Chester.

Burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK
