My 3rd great grandfather is Daniel A. Newman, who was a county judge and sheriff of Hot Spring County. He was a one of the most influential men in the early history of Hot Spring County, and he signed the petition to form Malvern. He was a Mason and served nine years as Ouachita School superintendent. I have enjoyed finding information about my grandfather. I offer these photos for publishing in any medium so that they may help anyone else researching the Newman family or Hot Spring County history. Daniel, or D.A., was buried in Rockport Cemetery.
