BUIE / NICHOLS / GIBBS / CLIFT / BROOKS
Need information on the family of William W. BUIE and his wife, Martha
Farrow NICHOLS BUIE, who moved to Hot Spring County, AR., from Hardin
County, Tennessee, about 1846. They are listed in the 1850 and 1860
Census records as living in Big Creek Township, of Hot Spring, County.
Their oldest daughter Margaret, born in Hardin County, Tennessee,
married Kenneth GIBBS of Malvern, on August 1, 1849. Other children of
W. W. and Martha NICHOLS BUIE were: James N., Harman Gadden, John
Thomas, Martha Isabelle, William N., and Rosalie (Permilia). Martha
Isabelle married James BROOKS, I believe of Malvern. There may also be a
connection between the family of James J. CLIFT and his wife Jane and the BUIE Family. The 1850 census of Hot Spring County, has Margaret
BUIE living in his household, I suspect that Jane may have been a sister
to William W. BUIE and that Margaret may have been W. W. BUIE's mother.
