Do you have a place to post quiries for the families I've lost in Lawrence Co. in about 1880?
RICHARD H.BENNETT was in the 1880 census as a widower with a 2 yr. old son.
GEORGE M. PRICE was there at the same time with his 16 yr. old wife and 3 children by first wife. His oldest child MALINDA PRICE age 13, marr. RICHARD BENNETT about 1882.
ISAAC PRICE,bro. to GEORGE, lived there with his family too. PRICE disappeared after that census.
RICHARD BENNETT and Malinda and 2 boys were briefly in TX in 1900 before moving back to AR. Thank You Kay Cress

I am researching the ancestors and family of Levi WATSON who resided in Lawrence (now Sharp County, AR) from about 1855-1862. The family resided at Maxville. The Methodist Episcopal chapel at Maxville was named for the family. Prior to this time he resided in St. Clair Co., Alabama from at least 1820 to 1852. He was born in North Carolina in about 1792. His wife was Jane (probably OWENS -daughter of Jesse and Sarah OWENS). He and others in his family (John WATSON)owned land in St. Clair County, Alabama (which is now in Etowah County). I believe that his parents were John and Mahala WATSON and that he had a brother Eli - but need documentation. Levi's children included Jesse (married Martha Ann MORGAN)(Their children included John Russel, Thomas P., James M., Nancy J., Mary E., Josiah, Martha, Levi and William). Elizabeth (married William S. BEASON), James M. (married Anna BROTHERS), Mary A. (married Benjamin S. SHIRLEY), Nancy A.(married Goodlen CHRISCO or CRISCO), Peter, Martha (married Russell JORDAN) and John Watson. In about 1852 the family moved to Mississippi and then within a few years to Lawrence (now Sharp County, Arkansas). From there the family of John Russel WATSON moved to Scott County, Arkansas. I would like to share information with others researching this line. Dale G. Watson

Lawrence County, AR: My grand father, Martin Van Buren Simpson was adopted in the late 1800's, probably around 1887. His real last name was Ragsdale and I can not find any information on who his Biological parents were. Here's the story as told to my now 70 year old father. Martin VB father died before birth and mother died when he was around 7. All records were destroyed in a school fire so he never knew his age or parents. At age 11 or 12, his family moved to Butler county Missouri (Poplar Bluff) where he died in 1966. I heard a George W. Ragsdale died in a Grismill explosion in 1880. Could that be his father?

Looking for Goins/Goings children after parents death in Sharp, Lawrence Cnty around Strawberry River abt 1857-1860. Can't locate who these children lived with after death of parents: Pleasant L. Goins and wife Mary Smith. Believe it may have been Gibson family. Located one name listed with this family on Census of 1860 as Pleasant S. Goins Jr.; however all the other children in this family listed as Gibson. Could the census taker have made an error and some of these children were Goings? Does anyone know the parents of Pleasant L. Goins and of Mary Smith? My husband's grandfather was one of their sons born 1854, William Zachariah Goings Md Anne Elizabeth Ballard. Wm & Anne were in TX in 1898, he died 1899.

MASON-MOORE
William MASON married Ida May MOORE in Lawrence Co in 1918. He had previously been married to Donia (Henrietta?), surname unknown. Ida May MOORE was born 1886, in Thayer, MO. She married about age 16 to Guy KING in Lawrence Co. AR. They had four children, one died in infancy; another about age 18. Ida and Guy King were divorced. She then married a Smith, who died, before marrying William Perkins Mason, b 1872 in TN. Ida May Moore's parents are unknown. She was raised by Minta Catherine, not sure of Minta's surname. Her first husband was said to have been John Rhoads (Rhodes). I found a marriage for her to a Mr. Howell, and her name was given as Mrs. Minta C. Rhodes, but I have not found the Rhodes marrige. Later she married Frank Brader in Lawrence Co. He had one daughter, Bea Brader, by a prior marriage. Any information on the Moore/Rhodes mystery would be appreciated.

Married Zelpha SMITH, b.ca. 1809 (also born in Tennessee). Marriage took place ca. April, 1830 in Lawrence Co., AR. Children born in Lawrence County: John Milligan RAGSDALE (ca. 1835) and Lydia Lee RAGSDALE (ca. 1837). In particular, I am seeking info on where they lived and on parentage/siblings of Ellis RAGSDALE and Zelpha SMITH, and on any links with local families/other researchers, and on local history and migration patterns.
