William Henry & Dollie Varden Harden Weir




Dollie Varden Harden and William Henry Weir were married by C. L. Freeman on Dec. 13, 1903 in Black Rock, Arkansas. They settled out on Lawrence Road 216 living on about 300 acres where they raised their family. Their children were: James Hubert, Bertha Tennessee, Lucian Maxie, Hershel Franklin and William Clifton. There was another child, George Amos, who died while a little toddler. He is buried at the Weir family plot at Moran Cemetery. The children attended a one room school house at Mt. Vernon along that same country road. That school house still stands today and is presently the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. William Henry Weir was the son of George F. Weir and Martha J. Smith Weir. He was born on Jan. 24, 1876 and passed away on Mar. 26, 1951. Dollie V. Harden was the daughter of James M. Harden and Wilhelminie Tennessee Fredeking Weir. She was born on Aug. 9, 1882 and passed away on Nov. 13, 1972. Both are buried at Moran Cemetery along with their sons, James Hubert and George Amos.
