Lee County, Arkansas Cemeteries

Hopewell Cemetery

Gill, Arkansas

Location: This cemetery is located on Lee Road 810.  When traveling north on Hwy 121 past Holub’s Crossing, turn east onto 810.  The cemetery is about 1 ½ miles down on the south side of 810.

Jane Hartley submitted this cemetery on January 19, 2002 and updated it on November 10, 2005.  Click on some of the names below to view photos that she submitted in September 2005.  This is a listing of all readable markers and names of people remembered to be buried here by Charley Mathews (neighbor and volunteer normally responsible for grave digging) and Douglas family (which lived across the road) in August of 1986 and those added up until February 1998. There are additional graves which never had markers or for which markers have been destroyed but we have no way of identifying them. You may locate records to show burial without names being on this list. Any such findings would be welcome to update this list.  If you have any additional information about this cemetery, please contact me.

If you know of anyone else buried here, and would like to add their name, please contact me.  I can also create a link for you to any of these names if you find someone that belongs to your family.  The information presented is as correct as possible, however you may want to verify its accurateness.

* Information taken from various cemetery books

** No Marker – information was submitted by person noted

Please support the preservation of these records and cemeteries.

Thank you.
