The Mante store existed in two locations, this being the first. Both were on Highway 74 about three miles west of Huntsville.
This store was on a bank approximately across from the existing dirt road
that goes to the Bohannon church. I believe the store burned. It was rebuilt
about 200 yards closer to Huntsville. I don't know the date. The "new" store
was run by Guy and Edith McCoy for as long as I can remember (mid 1940's
on) and was directly across the road from their house. It went the way of
all the small country stores sometime in the mid 1950's I think.
