Madison County Biography of:

"Brantley B. CLUCK, farmer, was born September 25, 1840, and is a son of John S. and Jane G. (ROBINSON) Cluck. He grew to maturity on the home place, south of Aurora, and there lived until the war.

After serving in the Confederate army six months he enlisted in the First Arkansas Infantry, United States service, and at the end of two and one-half years returned home and located on his present farm, which consists of 170 acres, 100 being well cultivated, upon which he has since resided with the exception of the time consumed in a trip to Colorado.

October 25, 1867, he was united in marriage to Agnes A. MARTAIN, daughter of John MARTAIN, who came here between 1830-1835 from Tennessee, bringing with him the seed of the well-known Martain red apple. Mrs. CLUCK was born upon the same place where she is now living, and upon which are still standing some of her father's old fruit trees, now over fifty years old.

Mr. and Mrs. CLUCK have been blessed with nine children: Serrilda J., Dora M., William C., Marion C. (deceased), John B. (deceased), Arminda A., Philip A., Mary A. and Charity A.

Mrs. CLUCK is a member of the Christian Church, and her husband is a mason and Knight of the Horse. he is a successful farmer and a well-known and respected citizen." (Goodspeeds History of NW AR…)
