Notes for WILLIAM R. REYNOLDS:

Di has middle initial R stands for Riley.

A William Reynolds first shows up in the tax records in 1846 as a poll tax. This would make sense as William would have turned 21 that year. He also shows up in 1847, 1849, 1851, and 1852 as a poll tax only. In 1853, 1854 and 1855, a William Reynolds shows up as a poll tax and owning land in 19/19/15. By 1855 he owns 80 acres in that section. He shows up again in 1859 and 1866 with 160 acres of land each time in that same section.

Letter in the possession of Larry Reynolds from W.H. Wood to W.R. Reynolds:

Flat Creek, Mo.

Dec. 28, 1871

Mr. W.R. Reynolds

Dear Bro., I have waited long... to hear from you.. but in vain.. you forgot to mail your last

?????. When I wrote you last I thought about coming to see you about Christmas.. I failed however to get pay for teaching(?) which threw me flat in which condition I remain to the present..and must for

some time to come unless I can get help from Ark..

What is Louiza's interest in her father's landed Estate worth..and is it available I mean will it sell

now..again will any land there sell.. I would sell one or the other or both.. at anything like a reasonable price. I wrote to you about your receipts in Aug. last.. did you get it. I want you to write soon and if you can sell either of those interests for me at something like a fair price tradeand I will make it right. I am in a tight now.. money is scarce and hard to get.. I have near 75 dollars owing to

me.. and one half would make me easy now. but I can't reach it. I think I will get it in the summer

or the most of it. I will say again if your Recepts are lacking write what it is owed. I will make it right.

Louiza says she wants to see you & Anna and the children a little worse than ever before.. and

wants me to give you a special invitation to bring the family & come out and see us .. she says you need have no fear of starving that we have plenty to eat.. except coffee.. that's played out.. and I know she tells the truth (for we had an Opossum) for dinner.. and it is all good.

Now for the invitation. In the name of the state load up your wagon with Anna and the children and plenty of provisions especially coffee and pay us a visit. Can you tell us anything of Meridith.. what is his post office and where is he. We are all well

Write soon in haste (?)

W. H. Wood

Caid, Zelma daughter of H,M. & S,C, 26 Oct.1908-26 May 1909

I believe that Henry M. Caid is actually a son of John Cade and Mary Jane Reynolds. In the 1870 census John Cade is living with William R. Reynolds in his house. John is 19 and Mary Jane is 18. This would make him William R. Reynold's grandson. Henry M. Caid is in Fannin Co., TX in 1910 census.

According to notes left by Claire Reynolds Johnson John M. may have moved to Grapevine in the late 30's or early 40's. The picture of Cora Crittie, Luther and Lee are supposed to have come from John M.

I am not sure if John M. is from the first wife or the second wife.
