 A Typical Sunday afternoon at Denton Ferry one of the early crossings on White River above Batesville. It was located about 2 miles above Cotter. First two on left are W.N. (Newt) and Sarah Christian. Sitting on rack of pilot wheel is Arleigh McCracken, Brent McCracken holding baby who is Lyle Wood. Standing back of Bert is Baxter Hurst who along with E.B. Wood were owners of the ferry until operation ceased in the early 1930's. Photo made in 1923
