Marion Co TOC

My husband's grandfather was Dink Berry. Born 1877 in Etoile, Barren County KY to William Franklin Berry and Mary Elizabeth Matthews. Dink's father died before 1880 census, and Dink and his widowed mother moved to Marion County, AR shortly after that. Several of her Matthews siblings had already moved there. Mary Elizabeth married William Gowan "Dock" McCracken around 1883 in Marion county. Dink taught school in Marion County for many years, and for some time was the registrar and county assessor.
