Martin was b. Feb 19, 1876, Flippin, Marion Co., AR, d. May 23, 1960 Boone Co., AR. He was the son of long time residents of Yellville, Benjamin Mason Estes and Martha "Mattie" Jackson. Martin m. Apr 13, 1900, Martha Jane White in the Capps area of Boone Co., AR, next door to Marion Co. Martha Jane d. Feb 7, 1974, Harrison, Boone Co., AR. Martin and Martha had five living children: Benjamin Pierce, Vernon Olta, Avis Inez, Don Oliver, and Leo McRae Estes. Martin and Martha are buried in the Speer Cemetery, Capps area, Boone Co., AR
