MEET THE FAMILY OF
JAMES A M & SARAH (LOWRY) STONECIPHER
Submitted by: Jimmy L. Mitchell (jimmyl@texas.net)

Dividing Line

Photo from about 1910 or early 1911 of the James Andrew Madison ("Matt") Stonecipher family, taken outdoors at the family home near Pyatt, Marion County, AR.

Not shown are two daughters born later: my mother Oza Ann Stonecipher (May 30, 1911) and Lola S. (May 12, 1914). Both kids and parents were all born and raised in Marion County; moved to near Stratford, Oklahoma in about 1920, when my mother was 8.

Grandma Stonecipher's parents were: Franklin Augustus Lowry (b. abt 1850) and Manerva Henson Tabor (b. abt 1849 or 50). Both were born in Marion Co. Grandpa's parents were: James Heywood Stonecipher (b. May 25, 1839, Morgan County, TN) and Melinda Ann Jones (b. abt 1839, Marion Co. AR, near Yellville). This is probably more information that you can use or post, but I thought you might find the family connections (Lowry, Tabor) interesting.

Back row: Marion Cleave Stonecipher (b. 1892); James Monroe S. (1896); Ernest M. (1898).
Middle row: Ulster Vester S (1904); Sarah Evaline Jane Lowry (1872); James Madison Stonecipher (1867); Cam A. (1901).
Front row: Franklin Augustus "Gus" S (1908) and Luther C. "Luke" S (1906).
