DYER family moved from TN to Monroe Co AR after Civil War, lived mostly around Clarendon. Believe some were still there in 1980s. I would really like information on Eugenia's parents, Beverly L DYER and Sara BRANCH, but interested in any branch of this family.

AVAKIAN, GAY, GOBLE, HICKS posted by Marlene Shake on Tuesday, March 9, 1999: Would like to contact anyone researching the following: Ephram GOBLE married Rachel Melinda (HICKS) GAY 22 Feb 1855 in Monroe Co., AR. Rachel had been married to Green B. GAY before she married Ephram, and had one child named Missouri GAY. Ephram and Rachel had about 8 children. They left AR and went to Llano Co., TX sometime during the 1870's. They died in the late 1890's near Del Rio, TX. Viola AVAKIAN of Long Beach, CA researched this family in the 1960's, but has since passed away.

They had a farm (on Carter Rd.?) and were well known in the community. Any help in learning more would be appreciated. Below you will find pretty much all I know of them. Magdalene's parents were part Indian and part Black. Her mother's maiden name was TRUESDALE and she may have been full-blooded Indian. (She was very small.) Frederick may have been born with the surname, RUFF. Magdalene, her children and grandchildren moved to San Francisco, CA in the late 1940s. I have a Obt. from the "Arkansas Methodist" date 9/30/1891 on Ozzia LOOCKE from Midway neighborhood, in Phillips Co.. He died 8/23/1891 at the age of 13 year 3 months and some days. He was an orphan. He left four unnamed Brothers. His parents having preceded him in death. My great grandfather was Jesse Lee LOOCKE who we think was born in the Hot Springs area. Joseph was born in England and Cordelia was born in South Carolina. This family is in migration pattern. They can be found in Yell County AR in 1880 and Scott County in 1900's.
