ADAMS, DIETRICH, DISMUKE, SKINNER posted by Karen Slater on Thursday, January 25, 2001

I am looking for any family information on the name William Wiley (DIETRICH) or DISMUKE. He changed his name. He was born in 1875 and married Ella ADAMS. He resided in Arkansas in 1916 because my father was born there near Clinton, Arkansas. He used the name DISMUKE from the age of 18 and we believe DISMUKE is a family name on his mother's side. We believe the family moved to Texas and then they lived and died in California. Anyone with any information would be greatly appreciated.

ANDERSON, PORTER, WELLS posted by H. L. Porter, Jr. on Tuesday, February 27, 2001

I am searching for any information about my Grandfather Dave A. PORTER. The family was orphaned at an early age and raised by a Reverend Tom WELLS at Chunky, Mississippi (Newton/Lauderdale Counties). About 1900 Dave and John, a brother, came west on the train. Dave got off at Longview Tex. and married my Grandmother Della ANDERSON, Christmas 1905 in Gregg County Tx. John continued west on the train and was never heard from again. Another brother Frank stayed behind in Mississippi. Another brother Wes and his wife Fanny and a son Ira, who signed his name I.N., moved north to Clarendon Arkansas (Monroe County). In the 1920 census for Upshur County Tx., Dave says that he was 53 on his last birthday, making him born 1866 in Mississippi, and he says he doesn't know where his parents were born. Please reply to porterfarm@aol.com. Thanks.
