This is the only census I have found him on. I do NOT find him in any of
the other Montgomery Census books (1870-1920) I don't find any of his children
(other than Robert) listed in the Montgomery Co. Marriages, nor any in the
Cemeteries book. Where did they go?

about my family. Chesley Jackson Simpson is my G. G. Grandfather.
Hill
The Hill family is also in the same book. George Washington Hill is my G. G. G.
Grandfather.
Cooper
Is this the one I am really stuck on. My Great Grandmother's father lived in
Mena, AR in the 1920/30's. I am not sure if this is where he had always lived or
not.
His name is Bill Cooper, could have been William Cooper. He was married at least
twice, maybe three times. The only wife I have a name for is Mary. She would be
the 2nd or 3rd wife. Bill had 4 children. I am not sure about the order of
birth, or who the mothers are. Mattie Allie or Allifair Cooper. Birth date April
20,1899. She went by Allie as a young girl and changed to Mattie later in life.
She is my G. Grandmother. She married John Wright at the age of 13.

Anyone researching the Laramore family?
Baker Boys from "The Looking Glass" June 1989 by Creo Jones, it says that in
latter part of 18th century, two brothers, James Elija Jefferson Baker, referred
to as "Uncle Bum", and William Whittington Baker called "Uncle Whit" relocated
from Alabama to Arkansas, homesteading land on the south side of Ouachita River
near Sims. Bum married Millie Lairamore (sp. in book) and Whit mar. Alice
Lairamore, daus. of Obadiah "Bud" Lairamore, a Civil War veteran living at Sims.
James Elija Jefferson (Bum) children included Mack, Frank, Dovie, Parlee, Anna,
Lee (male), and Ida. William Whittington (Whit) children included Andrew, Oscar,
Hester, Otto and Nellie. A cousin to the "double cousin" Baker boys, Jessie
Glover, lived in the Baker home also and the six cousins were a close group.
They enjoyed dressing well in matching suits they ordered (full pegged top
trousers, high topped button shoes, cuffed black riding gloves, white shirts
with neckties, and black hats. They liked to ride as a group and their riding
horses and saddles were envied by most of the boys their age. On Saturday they
all rode into Mount Ida and hitched to the rail at Henry Alley's Hardware Store;
after shopping they usually had a bowl of chili at Della Bearce's Cafe before
heading back across the mountain.

Although it is hard to tell since I don't have any particulars on the two Bates
men listed on the Amnesty list, I am kin to a James M. Bates and Thomas J. Bates
on my grandmother-Cressie Edwards Powell's side. Her grandmother was Mary Ann
Emma Bates who married Thomas Jefferson Edwards.
James M. Bates, born 1842, and Mary Ann Emma Bates, born 1836, were children of
William Fleming Bates and Mary Whisnand.
Thomas Jefferson Bates, born 1848, was a son of George V. Bates, and was married
to Rhoda Edwards.
The Bates lived in Polk and Montgomery counties, with a lot of them around Big
Fork, as well as the Edwards.
I do have a list of the children, if anyone is interested.
