CLARK-WILSON-SHORT-MURPHY-MULLINEX-GRAHAM Searching for death date and
cemetery for Mary Alice CLARK who married James Monroe WILSON in Montgomery County Aug 24, 1897. They were listed in the 1910 census in Laverney Township. They were listed in the 1920 census in Garland County, Baxter township, Arkansas. Their children were: James Monroe Jr., Nellie, Marvin M., Jewel M., Rossie D., and Fred. Mary Alice was born about 1879 and died between 1920 & 1922.
Ruth Margaret CLARK, a sister to Mary Alice married David W. MURPHY March 6, 1899 in Montgomery County. Ruth died in 1925 in Montgomery County and David then married Nellie GRAHAM. Looking for the descendants of Carl Elwood MURPHY son of David and Ruth. Carl was married to Dorthea MULLINEX at one time.
Hoping there might be some descendants who would like to exchange information. Mary Alice was the daughter of George W. CLARK and Mary Evelyn
SHORT. My grandfather, Rufus J. CLARK, was a brother to Mary Alice and Ruth Margaret.

Looking for BALDWINS
Patricia 3/17/2006
I am looking for a Baldwin family in Montgomery county from about 1890 to 1887. Can any one help?
I have cut and pasted the information I have on this family including trying to locate the town.:

Are you sure the first letter is a "C" and not an "S"
Found: Slatington, Montgomery Co., Arkansas

I believe that is the correct town. It was a mining town.
Since there is no 1890 census and they may have been gone by 1900,

Mr. Baldwin and wife Rachel Helene who liked to be called Lena. Possible last name Therien, Theman or Thiman.
Sister Bernice who died the day Grace was born
Elizabeth Grace born Feb 8, 1891 often used just the name Grace
Keeley born probably 1890
Margaret born 1893 to 1897 went blind about the age of 3

Moved to New York.
...................................................
Except for Keeley who appears to have been on his own
There is a Keeley Baldwin listed in the 1910 Census:
2-Wd Spokane, Spokane, Washington, page 5B, ed 160, 30 April 1910 Line 84, 712 1/2(?) First or Forest Avenue, all people listed on this page were lodgers.
...............................................................................................

Found someone who might be your person in this:

World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918

City: Cleveland
County: Cuyahoga
State: Ohio
Birthplace: Arkansas; United States of America
Birth Date: 6 Feb 1891

This card was transcribed as Kelley, but when I look at the card, which is a real mess, it looks like Keeley to me. What do you think?

And with that information this turned up:

Gustin Baldwin
by Patricia 3/25/2006
We ordered the death certificate for one of the Baldwin children to confirm what her fathers name was.
To date I have not been able to find any Gustin or Justin Baldwin.
Here are some facts about the family:
Rachel Helene (a) Learn sometimes went by the name Lena was born in Canada about 1860 and possible May 29th.
She married Gustin Baldwin place and date unknown.
The family is reported to have lived in Arkansas, USA.. place unknown where they had four children.
Bernice Baldwin born before 1890.
Keeley (Male) born 6 Feb 1891. This is based Military draft card found in Cleveland, OH
Elizabeth Grace born per death certificate 08 Feb 1891. Which is in conflict with the birthdate for Keeley. So his sighting may be incorrect. Wondering if they were twins?
Margaret born 15 Oct 1896.

All children are thought to have been born in AR. Rachel Baldwin left her husband and retuned to Canada living with family there. .
Below are the first sightings of the family in NY

12/29/2006,
Hi Harold,
John C. Scott is my great-great-grandmother, Sarah Scott Parham's, brother. That is my Scott family, his wife, and son Jesse. I do have the 1930 census already, but I thank you for finding them and offering to send a copy. I am told they previously lived in Forrester and Wing, which I think was in Scott County in 1920. But their son Glen/Glenn and his family lived in Montgomery and many of his descendents still live in the Little Rock, Hot Springs, and Malvern areas today. I just recently found them. One more question. Do you know what town the 1930's Mauldin, South Fork twp would be nearest?
Thanks for your help.
Iris Horne

I can give you the information shown on the 1880 census about a, (80 year old )
David Mayberry, (b. 1800), living in Montgomery County AR. if you need it, (from the census image). let me know if you would like this information.
Amos

I have searched the census images thinking that David Mayberry's parents might show up in David's house-hold or as a close neighbor as sometimes happens, such is not the case here. David and his wife Nancy did show up in AR for the census years, 1850, 1860, 1870 & 1880. As you probably know, in all census 1790 thru 1840 only the name of head of house-hold is listed, which in this case is David Mayberry, (not much Info). In the 1820 census there were several Maberry's shown as neighbors in IL, may be a slight misspelling of Mayberry, there is a David Maberry among these, interesting.

If you can, will you please check to see if there is an Owen McAfee Bates or either of his wives listed in a cemetery in Montgomery County? I was told that he was buried in a cemetery on/off of Buttermilk Springs Rd.. He died in 1893 according to my records. I don't know if his wife/wives were buried there or not. Their names were Lorinda and Mary Ann (Mollie/Molly)Stafford Bates. Lorinda died between 1883-1885. Her last child was born 1883, so she may have died in childbirth. Molly/Mollie died in 1916.

Also, his father, Milton J. Bates 1820-1862, married to Sarah Voyles Bates 1825-1859-60 (also could have died in childbirth at the birth of their last child in 1859), and his second wife who he was married to briefly before his death, Frances Catherine Bates who I have no more information on.

I would be grateful for any info on cemeteries that you can give me.
Thanks ever so much for any help you can offer. Owen and Molly were my maternal gr. grandparents; Milton and Sarah my gr.gr.grandparents.
You may email me directly at hillgranny(a)gmail.com if you wish.
Arlene

Montgomery County, Arkansas Cemetery photos
by James Wallace
Hello,

I have a 4th Great Grandfather, John W. Scott, who was a member of the 4th Arkansas C.S.A.. If there is anybody out there who might be able & willing to take a roll of film at Scott-Wehunt Cemetery outside of Black Springs where John & his 2 wifes are buried; I would be eternally grateful & willing to cover costs as I live about 900 miles north & have 4 children, 3 and under. Would love to also see what that cemetery, its gate & surrounding area look like.
If somebody is out there here is their information-
John W. Scott; b. 2-22-1818 - d. 3-21-1888
Susannah Earp-Scott; b. 1-8-1821 - d. 3-3-1856

(Johns 2nd marriage was to Susannahs younger sister Anna Earp-Scott 1824-1903; also at scott-wehunt)

Please contact me at the email address below & again I can cover any costs.
Thank you very much

I'm typically a lurker cause I don't have a lot of time to offer my help, but I do live only a few counties away and am often traveling through Montgomery County (I live in Clark). My dad was a Ledbetter and was born in Montgomery County, and we still have family there. I try to hit the couple of cemeteries where our family is buried every couple of years, but don't always make it. I would make the offer that if anyone needs something shot from there, and is not in ANY hurry, I can put it on my "to do" list for the next time I'm going through. If it's really conveniently located, I'm going to make a trip in a couple of weeks and would try to stop. I have some family history from there (fairly limited) but also know some people who know about such things. Have you talked to anyone at the museum there? There's quite a collection and a pretty incredible group of volunteers.
Always good to hear from "home."
