Jones ONeal Cemetery,

A small cemetery sitting on a knoll.
Montgomery Co. Arkansas

Montgomery Co. ARGenWeb Project

This small cemetery is located approximately 2½ miles from the intersection of Hwy 270 and Hwy 27 on the left heading north past the Whittington Cemetery and before the Sweethome Church.  Sign posted  - up a fairly steep 200 feet shady gravel driveway that ends and in a grassy parking lot with the well maintained cemetery sitting on a knoll.  Iris can be found growing on the left bank half way up the driveway. The cemetery is fenced with a gate with a new chain. Transcribed sic. row by row starting in the far left hand corner, on 14th October, 2006 on a beautiful sunny day by Olwyn and rechecked the next day. Eleven rows. Approximately 57 graves with 16 unmarked graves and 41 inscribed headstones. An active cemetery with the latest burial this year, no headstone yet. Oldest headstone Martha ONeal 1882. No ' with ONeal. [My comments]

Your precious dust to earth belongs

The gate is made from the same netting fencing material that surrounds the cemtery.       The gravel driveway leading up to the cemetery.

The signpost from Hy27 looking north.

Erecting a headstone is a bit like publishing, we have no control over who is going to read them.
