Rockey Valley Cemetery, Montgomery County, Arkansas

Rockey Valley Cemetery. Shadow of shelter can be seen to the right.

Easiest way to find the Rockey Valley Cemetery is to drive six miles west on South Fork Road 379, west side of Mt Ida. This cemetery has been cleaned up to make maintenance easier as seven fieldstones have been removed and dumped over the fence where the trees are located in the above photo near the right hand corner.  There is even a broken marker outside the cemetery fence under the large oak tree at the gateway. Oldest marked graves 1880. There are approximately 40 unmarked graves. The cemetery is about 52 yards by 45 yards on the north side of the road with a shelter with benches and table just outside the gate for services.

The road heads towards Mt. Ida. This shelter is outside the cemetery fence.

There is also a Rocky Cemetery in Montgomery Co. on Hwy 88 east of Sims.
