relocated to
Standridge Cemetery, Montgomery Co., AR

In the early 1950s due the Lake Ouachita project cemeteries were relocated. Reference1951 Corps of Engineers report "Relocation Plan of Cemeteries" for the Blakely Mountain Reservoir Area, AR. Information posted here with permission from the COE, Vicksburg office.

A. Contact next of kin for arrangements for possible removal of bodies to other cemeteries as follows:
        (1) to Black Springs Cemetery.

B. If decided to remove to Standridge Cemetery, use assigned grave.

The Standridge Cemetery later became known as the Stanley-Standridge Cemetery. East of Mt Ida on Hwy 270. Turn right across highway from the Fairground Rd. Just down the road on the right. Out of the 47 graves relocated *26 names, many with dates, appear in the Dec. 1997 cemetery book with dates and spelling variations.
