Transcribed from the tax book at the Montgomery County Courthouse, Mount Ida, Arkansas.  Whenever possible, look at the original lists as a researcher may get an idea of a family's financial status or may be able to link family members by checking tax records for others in the area with the same surname. If a man lived in the same community throughout his life, a researcher can follow him through the tax records from the time he came of age.
