Harmony 1889 The following article appeared in the Feb. 20, 1889 issue of The Nevada County Picayune. See Map I for the location of Harmony. We have a good school house and a school going on now, but it will likely close soon. Sorry that we don't have a school eight to ten months each year, but we can boast of as many good and pretty children as any neighborhood in Nevada County. What is better to speak more for a neighborhood than a good school, a large school, and good teachers. We think we have one of the best neighborhoods in south Arkansas. We have good lands, good timber, good people, good water, and as kind and obliging neighborhood as can be found in any country. We are at least religiously inclined, if not very practical. The most of our people are members of some of our churches within two miles of Harmony Church (M. E. S.) and the center of our neighborhood. We have four other churches, three of which have a large membership and in flourishing condition. Two of them are Missionary Baptist with Bros. Price and Kidd as pastors-noble men and good preachers and a Protestant Methodist with Bro. Sandford as pastor-a man full of zeal and love for God and His cause.
