Researching the descendants and ancestors of Francis Marion BLYTHE. Family tradition suggests that this Blythe line came from Virginia. Washington County, Texas, 1860 Census information and a family Bible indicate that Francis M. was born in Tennessee on 14 May 1821 and married Virginia Lockhart HARRISON in Pulaski County, Arkansas on 12 April 1842. Virginia L. was born in Alabama May 16, 1823. Nevada County AR cemetery records indicate that a Captain A. S. Blythe is buried in the new section of the De Ann Cemetery. Can anyone connect the Captain to Francis Marion? John Lohman 7519 Shadylane Drive, San Antonio, TX 78209 jlohman@txdirect.net

I talked with Ike HARRIS who was age 92 in the early fifties. He was a Grandson of Edward Adley Harris who was the father of six boys and two girls that came with him from Montgomery County Tennessee. I have seen the graves of some of them at the Nubbin Hill Cemetary at Missionary Grove Baptist Church located North East of Prescott. Could you tell me when they came to Nevada County? Apparently Edward Adley Harris was born in Virginia around 1806 and a woman lived with him that was born about 1782 and her name was Ann Harris. Is there information available that would help me go back futher? Is there any of these Harrises still living around Nubbin Hill? Is there any information about James H. Harris, the son of Edward Adley Harris who apparently died soon after coming to Nevada County. Thanks, Joe Harris

CHAMBERS, Henry Clay, born 1846 in McNairy Co, TN to Andrew Jackson and Elizabeth Chambers, moved to Salem, MO around the Civil War because of family differences. After the War, he went to Hot Springs, AR, where he met and married Mary Amanda NEIGHBORS. He always claimed MO as his birthplace. They moved to Nevada Co, AR, and after several children, Amanda died, 1880-82. Henry married Mary ROBERSON and lived in Wolfe City, TX. Later in life, he married Elizabeth BLANTON. Henry possibly lived in OK once, around Tipton. When he died, he was buried in Polk Co, AR near Potter, AR. Looking for info on Mary Amanda Neighbors -- parents, birth-death- marriage dates/ places, etc. She was born in SC. Any info appreciated.

On the 1880 Nevada Co. census, Broughton Township, David STEWART/STUART is living with his wife , Lenora Browning Sloan Stewart. Also in the household is Lenoras son G.B. (Beau ) GORDON. In 1870 they are living in Clark County Ark. in the South Fork township, near SLOAN families. Her first husband was William Stevenson Sloan. I have never found this family after the 1880 census, and I would like to know when Lenora and David died, also what happened to the Gordon child. I have lots of Sloan info that I will share.
