Seeking the identity of the parents of Elam F. JORDAN, born ca. 1833 in GA. Elam was residing in the household of Peter GOSNELL (b. ca 1815 in SC) during the 1850 U.S. Census of Murray County GA. Elam married, 21 May 1858 in Columbia County AR, Eliza J. BROOKS and then served in Co. F of Hardy's AR Inf Regt (CSA). Both Elam and Eliza Jordan died 1909 and were buried in Nevada County AR. Suspect that Elam may be the son of Henry Jordan (b. ca. 1793 in Halifax County VA), but need proof. This Henry Jordan disappeared from Halifax County by 1832, and may have followed the Gosnells to SC and GA.
