My great grandfather, Henry T. WOFFORD, is buried at Union Cemetery in Nevada County. Henry T. Wofford was born 1 Oct. 1855 and died 2 May 1886. He married Nancy Susan Camp, b: 31 Jan 1859 - d: 13 Nov 1904, and had one son, James Jeffery Wofford, b: 22 Jul 1879 in Hope AR, d: 7 Mar 1968. Nancy Susan CAMP's father, Andrew Farrar Camp, is buried at Union Cemetery, also. I am looking for Henry T. Wofford's parents. A person gave me some information on a James D. Wofford who had two sons, Alexander and Henry, in Sevier County, AR. The information shows a possibility that the Henry, son of James D. Wofford, is my great grandfather. It shows that James Alexander Wofford, Henry's brother, was one of the prominent settlers in Sevier County, AR. James Alexander is buried at Wofford Cemetery between DeQueen and Lockesburg. Since James D. Wofford, Alexander and Henry's father, died in the civil war, I believe that Alexander and Henry was raised by someone in Hope, AR. These two brothers might have been raised by a family named PURTELL who lived in and around Hope, AR. I need someone to verify that Henry, son of James D. Wofford, is the Henry T. I am interested in the KEELING family, who migrated from GA in CA 1870 to Nevada Co AR. The patriarch was Moses Monroe Keeling m. Phoebe SCOTT. MM was a confederate veteran from GA, as were his two sons, Lewis M. and William Jeptha. I believe MM and Phoebe died abt 1894, and their kids left for TX. He may have filed for a Confed.
