PERRY

Maggie Ponds Nov 16, 2000
In a declaration for original invalid pension August 27, 1885, my great grandfather, George W. PERRY, a Union veteran,  lists his resident as Sevier (looks like Levier) in Perry County, Arkansas. Is that a town or a township?   The application was filed in Faulkner County and witnessed by J. M. Mitchell and W. B. Wilson.  The post office address at the bottom also as Perry County, Post Office is Sevier (Levier).  What can anyone tell me about this location?

BANKS, GRAVES, THOMAS, BUSBY, HARDWICK, TUCKER, DRAKE, SWEENEY, WINFREY

NAME: Paula Dunklin Dec 18, 2000
Looking for any information on a Frances Hill Atkinson BANKS, born 1830-1831 in Adair Co, KY, died Dec 12, 1914 in Adona, Perry Co, Arkansas, and buried at King Cemetery. Daughter of William C. Atkinson and Sarah Hill DRAKE of VA? and KY. Frances married James Austin BANKS March 22, 1847 in Adair Co. James was the son of Jacob Wolford BANKS & Rebecca DAVIS, Adair County, KY.

My main interest is the BANKS family history and the Matthew BUSBY family history; two families connected by marriages. Children of Matthew and Seluda TINSLEY left Adair Co, KY abt 1850 and moved to TX. May have come thru Arkansas and visited with their BANKS relatives on their way to Freestone and Falls Counties in TX. Other associated surnames are: DRAKE, HARDWICK, THOMAS, SWEENEY, GRAVES, TUCKER, WINFREY

DRAKE, IVEY, SCHOTT

Darlene Drake Varney Dec 31 2000
I am researching Francis Barto DRAKE and his first wife Bertha IVEY. They were married in Perryville Arkansas on 30 March 1887. Francis Barto DRAKE'S parents were William Capas DRAKE and Rebecca Miriah ROLLS. I do not know who Bertha IVEY'S parents were. Their first child was my grandfather, William Capus DRAKE. Bertha is rumored to have died giving birth to their third child, George Drake in 1894. Francis Barto Drake then married Nancy SCHOTT and had four more children. Nancy SCHOTT had one child, Lillie SCHOTT when she married Francis Barto Drake. I would like to learn more about the IVEY family. I found a William H. IVEY on the 1850 census in Perryville but I don't know if they are related as that was before Bertha was born most likely.
