On the 1870 census of Perry Co., AR Wilson is listed with his children: James David, Sarah F., William, and Martha. Also two of Eliza's sisters resided with them: Julia A. GRACE and Caroline GRACE. QRYTEXT:My ggrandmother Loucretia Byrd Ivey Weaver died in 1936, and her death certificate indicates that she was buried in the Childs Cemetery in Perryville. However, we cannot locate a Childs Cemetery. Does anyone know of it or if the name has been changed throughout the years? Her parents were Andrew and Mary Parker Byrd. She may have been buried with her first husband George Washington Ivey as what records we have show he was buried around Morrilton in 1900. Their daughter, Georgia, married my grandfather John Bliss Compton, and my father, Calvin Smurr was born in Perryville in 1902. Thank you for your help

QRYTEXT:Would like to hear from L. Reeves who posted a query to Franklin Co., TN, in 1997, regarding Larkin Poteete family. I have an old newspaper article regarding the Poteete/Bostick family reunion held in Toad Suck Park in Conway in September 1985. My husband, Rodger D. Atkins, is the great grandson of Larkin Poteete and his second wife, Telitha Coats Poteete. Larkin is listed as Perteet on the 1850 Perry Co. census, living with his first wife Anna and children, Sarah A., Margaret M., Mary E., and James R. He was listed on the 1860 census with second wife Telitha Coats Poteete and they had one daughter, Martha Melvina Poteete born 6/22/1859. On the 1870 census, Larkin had disappeared during the 1860s and Telitha Poteete was living with her daughter and son-in-law, a Bostick. The article about the reunion gives info on the migration of the Larkin Poteete (spelled Putteett in 1840-45)and Alfred Bostick families by wagon train from Tennessee to Casa, Perry Co. Family history indicates that Larkin Poteete disappeared between 1860 and 1870, and was believed to have been killed by bushwhackers. One source says there is a record of him being hospitalized in Little Rock during the Civil War. Would like to contact anyone in Perry County who has information on this family. The article indicated that descendants Estelle Rainey and Letta Grisham were still living on some of Larkin Poteete's land in 1985.

QRYTEXT:My Grandfater James Wilce Cowan was born in 1877, his sister Fronnie Ellen was born in 1879 they both always said they were born in Conway County, which at the time they were born Perry, Faulkner and Conway County were all one County, Conway County. My Grandfather talked about living in a place called Solgohaucie which I think is in Perry County. His father's name was Isaac Cowan and died when he was around nine years old, his mother later married a man with the last name of Moon. My Grandfather married once before he married my grandmother. All I know about this marriage is he had a son named George Cowan, I know somewhere there has to be some of this family still around. If anyone can help me locate some of them or at least tell me where Isaac is buried at I would appreciate it very much.

QRYTEXT:My grandparents, Oliver Clifton "OC" and Mable Catherine BARLOW lived in Houston AR, Perry CO in the early 1950's. The house of my grandfather still stands right across a bridge on the Fourche Lafave River.  Grandmother died in Dec 1954 and Grandpa died unexpectedly in July 1957 after an automobile accident in Mena, Polk CO AR.  The home was being taken care of by a Johnson family, until it sold.. My uncle tells me that a trunk of family pictures and a collection of books disappeared from the house during the time it was vacant.  As I never knew my grandparents, or any of my BARLOW family, it would mean so much to me to have some of the pictures.  My father, Robert Edward Barlow taught school in Bigelow around 1954-55 just before he and my mother divorced, and he died not too long afterwards from diabetes. My mother tells me they were deeply religious people and they attended the Methodist Church in Houston, AR. Does anyone there remember my BARLOW's or have a clue as to where the pictures may have gone to?  I'm sure the pictures would not mean anything to anyone not being related, and I don't believe any relatives were there, all of their families lived in TX, IA, and MS.  I'd love to have any information of my grandparents, no matter how trivial....I do know they met in the Phillipine Islands around 1920 and were married there in 1922 and their first son, Clifton Russell Barlow was born there.  I don't know why they decided to retire in AR after having lived in Seagoville TX for many years before that.
