Am looking for as much info on the HUTSON, HUDDLESTON genealogy. Many of the HUTSONs settled in Van Buren County, city of Clinton. The Hutson's also married into the MARTIN family. Do not know much more than that. Where did HUTSONS migrate from specifically? I believe it to be Tennessee. Not sure from what counties in Tennessee.

Am looking for descendants/information on (JAMES LOUIS GENTRY b 1840 in Indiana, d 1917 in Dover, Pope Co, Arkansas) married Dec 1866 to HARRIET LOUISA MORGAN (b 1847 in Lawrence Co, AR, died 1903 in Dover, Pope Co, AR). They had 12 children: William, Frances (Liz), Henry, Sarah, Mary (died young), Thomas, Emily (Em), Edward, George, Charles, Osco and Labanuel (my grandfather). Thomas died in 1943 and is buried with parents and his wife in McFadden Cemetery in Dover. Most of the rest of the family moved out west during the 1930s. Would love to discover new cousins, share information and learn more about JL Gentry, and my great-great grandfather James Gentry.

RUFF, Lorenzo S. b abt 1864, d abt 1911, m Martha Louella Copeland abt 1900, all in Ark., 1 child Ruth Lee Ruff, bro James, sis Naomi. I found him last in 1910 census in Russellville, Ark., He and his wife Martha died of TB. He was in a sanitarium for the TB. Any help you can give me I would greatly appreciate. I have been looking for at least 8 years off and on. His wife died in Yell county and his marriage was in Yell Co. His daughter was raised in Yell Co.

I am looking for information on a Mollie Larson who is listed in the 1870 Census of Pope Co. She is believed to be the same person as Mary Lavina Lawson who was married to Nathaniel Buck Scott in Yell Co. Ar.in 1877. We have been told that the name in Cherokee is prononuned Mollie but this is not confirmed. She is suppose to have been of Cherokee descent.She is my great-grandmother and I would apprciate any information on her.

Excerpted from "History of Pope County" 570 - John Parker John Parker was born in Maryland in 1780. He married Rachel (last name unknown) [Shipley, ed. see "History of Arkansas"] born in Pennsylvania in 1784. About 1822 they moved to what is now eastern Alabama where they were allowed to live and farm in Indian Territory, for reasons unknown. In 1832 the indians were driven out and the territory was divided into five counties with John and Family living in Chambers County, Alabama. John and a family of five boys and three girls were still living there in 1840. Sometime between 1841 and 1844 [1842, ed.] John chose to move his family west, stopping in Pope County, Arkansas. It is believed that some of his older boys and neighbors proceeded on to settle in Texas. However, John with his wife Rachel, sons Joshua M. and Meredith W. and daughters Louisa, Jemima and Mary A., (born in Arkansas) remained in Pope County.

Looking for information on John M. MORROW b.1817 in Tennessee or Kentucky. Married Mary Ann "Polly" DRAKE in 1840 in Missouri. I have found him listed on the 1860 Pope County census. Also have found info listing him as justice of the peace in 1855--Pope County. Several of his children were married in Pope County. I do not know when or where he died, but I think it is somewhere in Pope County. Thanks

I am seeking information on the HOWELL family of Pope Co. My 4th great- grandfather English Jesse "E.J." HOWELL died 10/17/1854 & is buried in Pope Co. He was married twice, the 1st to Nancy AMIS who died 8/22/1834 in Independance Arkansas. Their son Thomas Amis HOWELL was my 3rd great-grandfather. He Married Sarah Ann BERNARD 3/14/1844 in Pope Co. They later moved to Texas. English Jesse's 2nd wife was Elvira Davidson (unkown date of death). I am hoping to find out any family information on the HOWELL, AMIS, BERNARD, or DAVIDSON families.

MELTON and Viola BOUDRA. Sometime before 1940 Connie L. MELTON assumed the name J.B. NELSON, unknown reason for name change. Connie MELTON had possibly 3 younger sibs, only one known is sister WILMA. Connie's father, Luther MELTON was killed in a saw mill accident at Anthony's Sawmill near Kenwood 15 Mar. 1927 leaving a widow (2nd wife) Esther, maiden name unknown. I am looking for information on my grandfather Lorenzo S. Ruff. I found him in the 1910 Censes in Russellville, Pope Co. enumberated with a man named Campbell. He died between 1911-12. He had TB and was in the sanitarium in Russellville. Could someone please give me the address of the sanitarium or information that I may get information from. His wife was Martha Louella Copeland and she died in 1904 from TB. He had one daughter named Ruth Lee Ruff. She was raised by her great-grandmother Mary Michel Bull Dooly in Danville, AR. He had a brother James Ruff and a sister Naomi Ruff who married a Pierce.
