Gibson Memorial Cemetery at Gravel Ridge is located on Jacksonville-Cato Rd, west of Hwy. 107 and next to the Cato Elementary School at the corner of Lybrand Dr. Shown on Pulaski Co. Map pg. 17. Records found in AFH Vol. 1, #2, Jun 1962, pg. 23 and at the Arkansas History Commission. Also in the Arkansas Genealogical Society Silver Anniversary issue pg. 50 has some records. Copied in spring of 1955. A new inventory has been done by David V. Brannon and Tom C. Martinet in the spring of 1997.
This cemetery appears to have been started in the year 1839 per a sign in front. We have no further information on just when it was formed or who is in charge, etc. The first birth recorded on one of the markers was for John GROVER in 4 FEB 1831, and the earliest death recorded was for Maud C. Lindsey 25 Aug 1885.
There is every indication that many burials have been made but without any marker left to see who was buried there.
