By David V. Brannon This cemetery is located on a wooded knoll on Arlene Laman Drive in Burns Park in North Little Rock. The GPS location is North 34.47.807, West 092.19.174. There is only one tombstone remaining. It is a tall stone with John Christian Heilman and his young daughter Louisa Matilda Heilman on the same stone. John Christian Heilman was born in Wurttemberg, Germany and was the original owner of the property on which Burns Park is located. His original log cabin stands nearby. The cabin was relocated here from the Heilman homestead on McArthur Drive and Crystal Hill Road. John C. Heilman's 2nd wife was Jane Constancia Rosenbaum. She is buried in Heilman No. 2 near the homestead site called Five Mile House. There have been many articles printed in the Arkansas Gazette, Arkansas Democrat and the North Little Rock Times Newspapers about this early pioneer family. There is also a paper in the Arkansas History Commission written by G.W. Heilman, son of John C. Heilman on the family. Evelyn K. Eubanks also included the Heilman family in her book "Indelible Footprints" Copyright 1975. I am told that there are others buried in this cemetery, but there is no record of them. The Sunnydell Garden Club has planted shrubs and beautified this cemetery, it is well maintained now by Burns Park personnel.
