The Lawson P.T.A. held their regular meeting at the school Fri. Afternoon Oct. 5th. With 24 members present. Mrs. Lola Pritchard Pres. Presided over the business meeting. Mrs. W. H. Dawson opened the meeting with prayer. Minutes of the last meeting were read by the secretary, Jo Ann Mann and approved. Report of the treasure was given by Mrs. Dorothy Mann. A total amount left in treasure of $143.45. Miss Perkins introduced the new teachers Miss Drake and Mrs. Wallace. A group discussion was held on changing our P.T.A. day. Miss Perkins suggested that we meet a 1:30 p.m. for our meetings. We decided to have our Halloween carnival Fri. Night Oct. 26th. Plans were discussed for the carnival. The teachers were asked to give list of things they needed. A motion was made by Mrs. Thompson to discontinue the serving at the meetings. Miss Perkins read a letter from the juevinelle officer. Group discussion was held on fixing the piano. Was decided to have a man come out and look at the piano and see if it could be reconditioned. Group discussion on getting linens for the hospital room. Plans were made to quilt a quilt that was donated at Mrs. Rays. Mrs. Edwards room won the attendance prize. Meeting was adjourned until November. Respectfully submitted by Jo Ann Mann Sec.

The Lawson P.T.A. met at the school Fri. Evening Oct. 2 for their regular monthly meeting. Mrs. Lola Pritchard, Pres. Presided over the business meeting. The meeting was opened by all repeating the Lords prayer. Minutes of the last meeting were read by the secretary. Report of the treasure was given by Mrs. Dorothy Mann. Group discussed getting the piano fixed. We decided to let Miss Perkins find out what could be done about it. Out teachers were asked to give a list of the things they needed. A motion was made to buy a large mirror and attractive pictures for the whole school We decided to put on a membership drive and to give the room and the child a prize that got the most member. Group discussion on getting entertainment for the school Appointed a committee to select a play. Meeting was adjourned until December. Respectfully submitted by the sec. Jo Ann Mann

Motion mad and second for Mrs. Stella Ellis to be new Sec. Old busness called for. Motion mad to have piano repard. Miss Perkins to attend it. Motion made & second to get list of member to give Sec. for futer needs. Motion made & sec for Miss Perkins to make arrangments with Mr. Ewell to transport P.T.A. members to & from meetings. Was voted for Mrs. Wallas & Miss Sezie to plan programs for Feb 22.

Busness sesson presided over by President opened with group repeating Lords Prayer. Sec, & Treasuar gave a report stood aproved as read. Was voted to pay Miss Perkins $4.16 for sano-wax Was voted to pay $5.00 to Jennie Dodd fund. Mrs. D.W. Ewell to tend to it. Being no further business meeting adjurned until next month. Opened with group repeating Lords Prayer. President, Mrs. Lola Pritchard, presiding over business meeting. Sect. Gave report, stood approved as read. Treasuor absent. Having piano tuned was the only old busness. Mrs. Tom Minton was appointed to tend to it. New busness. Mrs. Edward. Mrs. Minton, Mrs Singley were appointed comitte to nominate. officers for coming yr. Nominations were: Pres Mrs C.P. Jinks, V Pres. Mrs. Hartnett, Sect. Mrs. Bill Thompson, Tres. Mrs. Tom Minton. There being no other nominations, motion & second to vote on all officers at once. They were accepted.

Groupe discussed having moving picture one night each week thro summer, Mrs. Mabry, Mrs. McBride, Mrs. Hartnett appointed refreshment comitte.

Mrs. D.W. Ewell door keeper. Miss Perkins anounced preschool round up April 9. 1 p.m. There being no further business meeting was adjurned until next business date: Stella Ellis Sect

Lawson P.T.A. The Lawson P.T.A. held its regular meeting Friday evening May 3rd 1946 with a large attendance of mothers. The 7th & 8th grade gave a Mothers Day Program and served tea. Mrs. Lola Pritchard President presided over the business meeting. Mrs. Swartout opened the meeting with Prayer. Minutes were read by the Sec Mrs. Stella Ellis and approved. The yearly report from the treasure Mrs. Dorothy Mann was given. Old buisness was the tuneing of the Piano which was left unfinised until the Sept. Meeting. Miss Perkins made a talk on the 7th & 8th grade?s trip to diamond cave. Miss Sezze made a talk on her trip to the convention in Cenrinate Ohio. Motion was made & Sec. For Mrs. Lola Pritchard President to install the new officers. The new officers installed were Pres. Mrs. C.P. Jenks. Vice Pres Mrs Louise Hartnett, Treasure, Mrs. Tom Minton, Sec. Mrs. W. A. September 6th - 46
The Lawson parent and teachers association met Friday Sept. 6th with a pot luck dinner, first fall meeting of this year at the school. The meeting was opened by the President Mrs. C. P. Jenks with a prayer. A song was sung by the group and music was played by Mrs. Tom Minton. The treasure?s report was read by the treasure, Mrs. Tom Minton with $82.90 in the treasure at the beginning of school. Discussions were made about a new piano and play ground equipment. The majority voted to get a new piano and a committee was selected to do so. A talk was made by the Principal on ?Keeping the enrollment as high as we can in school this year. The meeting was closed with the president outlining her plans and naming her committee personal and some literature was given out by her. For all unfinished work, a called meeting was set for Friday Sept 26th. Refreshments will be served following the program in honor of the teachers and the new officers, Lucy Johnson & Mrs Annie Mae Medcalf. Respectfully sub. By sec. Mrs. Thompson.

Sept. 20-46
The Lawson parent and teachers association met at the school for a called meeting Friday Sept. 20th. Mrs. C.P. Jenks the Pres. Presided over the business meeting. The meeting was opened by group singing and devotional was led by Mrs Minton. The members all gave salute to the flag. Mrs. Dorothy Mann, the program chairman read the program for the day and inspirational thoughts were read by Mrs. Lucy Johnson. A short program was given by the 8th grade, showing some of Lawsons talents and was directed by Janett Brown. Next was a welcome to the new teachers, and Mrs. Tom Minton the treasure, gave a report on the treasure which stood approved. Next unfinished buisness was taken up, whe had a report from the piano committee. Miss Sezza suggested we give a Mexican Fiesta instead of the usual Halloween Carnival. The date was set for Oct. 11-46/ Mrs. Mamie Ewell appointed the different committees to handle the games and food selling. Miss Perkins discussed the reason of why children pay library fees and talked about the reorganization act. The P.T.A. members agreed and payed $2.00 to Miss Perkins for the expense of having a tree cut from the school ground. An excutive meeting was called for Sept 27th to work on the budget and year book at the home of Mrs. Minton. The food committe to meet at the school on the same date. The president announced all the new committieman that is to serve through the year. The room count was given to Mrs. Wallace?s 3rd grade room won the $1.00 prize.

The meeting then ajourned untill Friday Oct 4th. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Lucy Johnson and Mrs Anna Mae Medcalf. Respectfully submitted by Sec. Mrs. W. A. Thompson

The Lawson parent and teachers association met at the School Friday Oct. 4th for their regular meeting. Mrs. C.P. Jenks the President presided over the buisness meeting. The meeting was opened by group singing and prayer by Mrs. Hupman. We then gave a salute to the flag. The minutes were read by the Sec. Mrs. Thompson. Mrs. Tom Minton the treasur gave her report next. We had a report from the Chairmen of the following Comm. Membership drive by Mrs Cardellia Monroe. Publicity Comm. Mrs. Gentry. Health report by Mrs. Swartout. Magazine Charman Mrs. Thelma Ewell. Safty report, Julia Mann?s The program Chairman, Mrs. Dorothy Mann had the following program. Scripture reading by, Mrs Swartout. Verse ready by Mrs. Lola Pritchard. Objects of the Parent & teachers by Mrs. Croy. Song by group. Next was report from finance chairman. Old buisness was discussed, and we had a report from the food comm for our Mexican Fiesta. Mamie Ewell was elected for our 2nd Vice president and Mrs Sparks for the 3rd Vice President. The room count was given to Miss Sezza?s grade won the prize of $1.00. Miss Perkins informed the members that she was resigning her job this day Oct 4th. November 1st, 1946
The Lawson P.T.A. met at the Lawson school ?Meeting Room? Fri. Night Nov. 1st with 26 members present. Mrs. C.P. Jinks the president, had charge of the business meeting which opened with a prayer by Mr. Avery. The National prayer was read in unison. Everybody sang America the Beautiful and then all gave Pledge of Allegiance to our flag. The secretary?s report was ready by Miss Perkins and the Treasury?s report by Mrs. Ewell. The Program Chairman Mrs. Dorothy Mann had charge of the following program. A scripture and devotional, taken from the bible by Mrs. Herman Avery. A poem ?The Marks of an Educated Man? by Mrs. Burl Mabrey. Talks and discussions were made until late, to build a new building on the school ground for a lunch room kitchen and gym. Mr. Herman Avery was appointed and voted as chairman of this project and his selection of committees were chosen openly as Mr. Ray of saline County, Mr. Burl Mabrey of the Martindale Community, Mr. C.P. Kinks of the Crystal hill community and Mr. Ernest Mann of the Lawson Community.

The unfinished business was the membership drive and Mrs. Dorothy Mann was appointed to get the prizes for the winners in this membership Drive. The prizes are to be presented at the next meeting or by the teachers at school. The meeting adjourned and Mrs. Dorothy Mann and Mrs. Duffie Ewell served the refreshments consisting of cold drinks, mixed candy and grapes. Dec 6th 1946
The Lawson Parent and Teachers Association met at the Lawson school ?meeting room? Friday night Dec 6th 1946 with 20 members present. Mrs. C.P. Jenks the President presided over the business meeting which opened with a prayer by Mrs. Mabrey. The group sang Silent Night. Next was reading of the minutes by the Sec. Mrs. Thompson. We had a report from the following committees, Mrs. Metcalf Sunshine Com, Mrs. Mabry, Mrs. Duffie Ewell finance committee. A motion was made and sec. To pay Mrs. Ewell the bal. Due on the trip with the children to the county council meeting. Miss Perkins explained to the members about the school test that was given the children by the state. It was voted for the P.T.A. to pay the cost which was $13.50 The program chairman, Mrs. Dorothy Mann presented the following program. Mrs. Hupman read a poem that she had composed herself. A song by group, O Little town of Bethlehem. Numbers were drawn for a gift. This was won by Mrs. Charlie Ray. The prized for the membership drive was won by Frankie Sue Ewell and Mary Lillian Reed. Dorothy Mann was to buy their prizes. The old buisness was the hot lunch project. The chairman Mr Avery gave a report on the work he was getting done with the donation of labor from men in the community. Mr. Avery was also appointed to take care of the money that is being donated and put it in the bank. The president appointed a committee to find a Supervisor and Cooks for the Hot Lunch Project. They were Mrs. Duffie Ewell, Miss Perkins and Mrs. Allie Monroe. The room count was given and the prize of $1.00 was won by the 6th grade Miss Perkins room. Jan 3rd 1947
The Lawson Parent and Teachers association met at the Lawson school ?meeting room? Friday Jan 3rd with 14 members present. Mrs. Duffie Ewell Sec. Vice President had charge of the buisness meeting. The meeting opened by song, ?America? and prayer by Mrs. Swartout. Next was reading of the minutes by the Sec. And treasure report by Mrs. Ewell. There was $60.54 left in the treasure.

We had a report from the following committies. Health by Mrs. Swartout. The members were notified that the county nurse would be at the school Jan. 28th at 10.A.M. to vaccinate and give Diptheria shots. Miss perkins a committieman on the Hot lunch project reported that Mrs. Duffie Ewell would be Supervisor and Mrs. Ray, Mrs. Swartout and Mrs. Ellis was hired for cooks & help in the cafeteria. The P.T.A. voted for the supervisor Mrs. Ewell to use money from the treasure to start off the lunch project and then repay it later when it gets started serving lunches. There was a discussion on things that Parents could donate for the lunch room. Mostley cooking vessels were needed. The president, Mrs. C.P. Jenks sent in her resignation but it was not excepted at this time. Miss Perkins had won the room count for 3 months. The prize being $1.00 each time. This she donated to the P.T.A. The room count for this meeting was given and Mrs. Wallace?s 4th grade room won the $1.00 prize. The meeting was adjourned untill Feb meeting date. Respectfully submitted by the Sec. Mrs. Thompson.
