Pfc. Dewey L. Crapo, stationed in South Korea, will be returning to the States after 16 months duty.

Dr. & Mrs. H. H. Price spent part of last wk. in Parkersbug, Va., with their son, Capt. H. H. Price Jr. & family. Capt. Price will be leaving for 2 year's duty in Korea soon.

Cpl. Charles W. Lindsey received his discharge from the Army on Aug. 11. He & Mrs. Lindsey moved to Lake Village where she will teach school & he will enter college at Monticello.

Mrs. Mazie Riggs Ford, 61, died in Newport last Wed.
Mrs. Sarah Kathleen Hatcher, 63, died at the home of her sister in Walnut Ridge Aug. 23.
Frank McIlroy, 73, died in St. Bernards Hospital, Jonesboro Mon. after a short illness.
Vincent Ramonious Layton, 41, died in a local clinic last night after a brief illness.

RUBY RUSSELL, 89, Paragould, died Sun., Aug. 26, 2001, at Ark. Methodist Hospital there. Born Nov. 18, 1911, she was a dau. of the late Benjamin H. & Estie E. (Eveland) Shoe. Her husband, Wiley Ferguson Russell, also preceded her in death. Graveside services were held at Sharum cem. Tues. with J. G. Jernigan officiating, McNabb Funeral Home was in charge.

AILENE NASH, 89, Pocahontas, died Sat., Aug. 25,2001. She was born at Maynard, March 11, 1912, a dau. of the late Sam & Emiline Richardson Allen. Her husband, Ora Val Nash, also preceded her in deah. Graveside services were held Tues. at Masonic cem. with Darrell Fears officiating, Cox-Waymon Funeral Home directed the services.

WILDA MAE RICKER, 81, Knobel, died Mon., Aug. 27, 2001, at Ark. Methodist Hosptial, Paragould. She was born Nov. 15, 1919, in England, Ark., a dau.. of the late Grant & Ruby (Goldman) Marsh. Her husband, Ben Ricker, also preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Wed. in the Chapel of Ermert Funeral Home, Corning, burial was in Pirtle cem., Peach Orchard.

JAMES HAROLD LITTRELL, 80, Ravenden, died Tues., Aug. 21, 2001, at his home. He was born Dec. 20, 1920 in Indianola, Okla., a son of the late James Henry & Alvaretta (Driver) Littrell. He is survived by his wife, Alva Ondalee (Prevett) Littrell, of the home. Funeral services were held Fri. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with G. W. Allison officiating, burial was in Brakebill cem.

BETTY RUTH BAILEY TARATINO, 51, Pocahontas, died Wed., Aug. 22, 2001, in a Little Rock hospital. She is survived by her husband, Gary Taratino of the home. Graveside services were held Sat. in Cedar Creek cem. under the direction of Martin Funeral Home, Waldron.

EDNA NAOMI MITCHELL, 85, Ravenden Spgs., died Wed., Aug. 22, 2001. She was born Nov. 24, 1915, in Ravenden Spgs., a dau. of the late John & Orria Smith Griffith. Funeral services were held Sat. at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Mackie McReynolds & Thurman Holt officiating, burial was in Janes cem.

JESSE ROBERT DeSHAW, 86, Reyno, died Sun., Aug. 26, 2001 in Randolph Home. He was born March 18, 1915. His wife, Frankie Lee Williams DeShaw, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Wed. in Biggers Baptist Church with Larry Rogers officiating, burial was in Randolph Memorial Gardens, Pocahontas, under direction of McNabb Funeral Home.

ERNEST G. HELSEL SR, (Big 'E"), 61, Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Wed., Aug. 29, 2001, at his residence. He was born April 3, 1940 in Pocahontas, to Mager E. & Tula Mae (Cox) Helsel. He is survived by his wife, Edith Winder of the home & stepmother, Jean Helsel, Pocahontas. Funeral services were held Fri. at Cotrell Funeral Home Chapel, Poplar Bluff, with Rev. Shelvie Stephens officiating, burial with military honors in City Cem. there.

HAROLD RAYMOND WATKINS, 43, Jonesboro, died Fri., Aug. 28, 2001, at St. Bernards Med. Ctr., Jonesboro. He is survived by his mother, Darlene Watkins, Jonesboro. Graveside services were held Fri. at the caraway Cem. by Rev. Jerry Jolly. Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, Jonesboro, was in charge.

FRANCES RANDLES, 84, Des Moines, Iowas, died Aug. 25, 2001. Born in Walnut Ridge, she was the dau. of Charley & Decia Ward Andrews. Funeral & burial were Tues. in Des Moines, Iowa.

ALOYSIUS CARL "OLLIE" DeCLERK, 97, Pocahontas, died Thur., Aug. 30, 2001, at his home. Born Oct. 23, 19903, he was a lifelong resident of Randolph co., a son of the late William & Mary DeClerk. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Liebhaber DeClerk. Funeral services were held Mon. at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Rev. Jim Mancini officiating, burial was in St. Paul's Catholic Cem. under direction of McNabb Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Thomas Jessie Redwine, 92, Reyno, were conducted Thur. at the Reyno Church of Christ. He opened the First Bank of Maynard in 1901 & served as a merchant & postmaster for several years at Reyno.

Mrs. Hazel Bell Campbell died at her home in Lake City Monday.

Mrs. Florence Effie Evans, 47, Maynard, died in Randolph Co. Hospital Sat. after a long illness.

CARL S. DUCKWORTH, 70, Walnut Ridge, died Mon., Sept. 3, 2001, at the Regional Med. Ctr., Jonesboro. He was the son of the late Doc Duckworth & Zelma Duckworth Mayo Grider. Survivors include his wife, Helen Marie Fish Duckworth of the home. Funeral services were held Fri. in the Bryan Funeral Home Chapel in Hoxie with Bro. Carl Cate, Bro. Steve Trail & Bro. James Coker officiating, burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park under direction of Bryan Funeral Home, Hoxie.

GEORGE N. ZOLLNER, 74, Ravenden, died Mon., Sept. 10, 2001. He was born July 9, 1927 in Fairfax, Minn., a son of the late George & Elizabeth Huhn Zollner. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Zollner of Ravenden. The body was cremated. A memorial service will be at a later date. Cox-Waymon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

KEITH BRADLEY BRAMLETT, 42, Jonesboro, died Thurs., Sept. 6, 2001, at his home. He was born June 6, 1959. He is the son of James Louis Bramlett (formerly of Pocahontas) & the late Mary Ona Floyd Bramlett. He is survived by his father. A memorial service was held Sept. 10 at the Chapel of Emerson Funeral Home with Randy Scott officiating.

KEITH LAVOY GOODWIN, 62, Pocahontas, died Fri., Sept. 7, 2001, at his home. He was born July 19, 1939 in Randolph Co., a son of the late Ava Mae (Mansker) Goodwin & William Edgar Goodwin. He is survived by his wife, Martha (Rickman) Goodwin. Graveside services were held Sun. at Maynard Cem. with Harmon Seawel officiating.

JAMES P. BERRY memorial service is planned for Sat., Sept. 15, at 3 p.m. at Sharum Freewill Baptist Church on Hwy. 304 E., Pocahontas, with Bro. Gene Cullum officiating.

Born Dec. 14, 1935 in Pocahontas, he was a son of Nellie (Alexander) Morton, Pocahontas & the late Tot Pratt, Sr. In additon to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Ramona Faye (Barnes) Pratt of the home. Funeral services will be today (Thurs.) in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Shelton officiating, burial will be in Randolph Memorial Gardens. The VFW Post 4556 Honor Guard will conduct military services at the gravesite.

GERTUDE O. GRIFFITH, 92, Pomeroy, Iowa, died Fri., Sept. 7, 2001, at the Pomeroy Care Ctr. there. She was born July 15, 1909 in Ravenden Spgs., a dau. of the late Albert A. & Mary (Neal) Griffith. Airman Larry D. Crisp, son of Mr. & Mrs. Homer Crisp, Pocahontas, graduated at Lowery AFB, Colo.

Thomas Dorman, son of Mr. & Mrs. Bill Dorman, Pochontas, completed basic training at Fort Dix, N.J. His next tour of duty will be in Germany.

Petty Officer Linda Abernatha, dau. of Mr. & Mrs. Fate Swann, Reyno, is an aviation machinist's mate in the U.S. Navy & is stationed with a helicopter unit at the squadron's hanger in Norfolk, Va.
