NAME: Ken Jenkins
EMAIL: kennethj@i- 55.c0m
SURNAMES: JENKINS, CAMPBELL, THORE/THOR, SNOW, (FORD?), POLLOCK, BULLA, PRIDDLE, HEATH, WILSON, CROWDER, BUTLER, PICKETT/PUCKETT, HUFSTEADER
QRYTEXT: Looking for the family of Merriel P. CAMPBELL m: Mary Jane (THORE) 24 Sep 1856 - Randolph County, Arkansas. Merriel was born about 1820 in Alabama, Mary Jane was born about 1838 in Obion County, Tennessee. Merriel's mother was Anne (-------) CAMPBELL (possibly FORD) and lived in Randolph County as a widow in 1850 with "Merill P.", Colby Q (m1: Sarah S. PRIDLE) (m2: Mary HEATH), Celia A. (m: M. T. WILSON) and Sarah Jane CAMPBELL (m: Albert S. CROWDER). Merriel P. and Mary Jane's children: William, who would later m: Lucinda Emaline (BUTLER). Colby, who would marry Mattie (PICKETT). James, who would later marry (possibly) Julia (HUFSTEDLER). Charles, John and Susan - no info. There was also Anna J. (CAMPBELL) who would marry John G. JENKINS (These lat two are my ancestors). Also in the area was Emma E. (JENKINS) POLLOCK-BULLA (sister to my John G. JENKINS) who would marry 1st in Dunklin County 1881 - Frank POLLOCK - marry second in Randolph County 1885 - George Marion BULLA. George's father William BULLA was from the adjacent Lawrence COunty. Some of the SNOW apparently were also in Lawrence County. THORE, POLLOCK and SNOW were originally from neighboring Obion County, Tennessee. JENKINS origins are unknown but thought to be from the above Dunklin County, Missouri. JENKINS might have been JINKINS. The Randolph County family seems to have split - some remaining in Randolph County (Merriel P. CAMPBELL was still there in the 1880 census - his son William C. CAMPBELL wass still there in 1900) and some migrated into the Indian Territory Oklahoma by 1890. Any help on any of these families would be greatly appreciated.

NAME: Mike Landwehr
EMAIL: MikeLandwehr@Compuserve.com< /B>
SURNAMES: HALL COUCH LADYMAN TAYLOR
QRYTEXT: The James HALL family were early residents of Dade County, Missouri. The family consisted of James HALL, b AL ca 1823-24; his wife, Martha HALL, b AL or NC, 1813-15; Joshua/Josiah HALL, b AL or MO, 1838-40; William HALL, b MO 1841-42; Oliver HALL, b MO 1844-46; Catherine Sarena HALL, b MO 1847; John HALL, b MO 1848-49; and Franklin HALL, b MO 1853-54. In the 1850 Dade County census, the James HALL family was separated from the Hanson and Milly HALL family by only one household. James HALL disappeared some time after 1850. His wife, Martha, married Avery COUCH between 1854 and 1856. Martha COUCH was listed in the 1860 Dade County census with her HALL children, but Avery was not in the household. Avery COUCH bought land in Oregon County, Missouri, in the late 1850’s. Martha and the HALL children apparently moved from Dade County to Oregon County in the 1860’s. Avery COUCH died about 1866. Martha’s daughter, Catherine HALL, was married to Benjamin LADYMAN in Oregon County on January 5, 1867. Martha Hall COUCH’s son, William HALL, COULD have been the William HALL who married Margaret TAYLOR in Oregon County three weeks later, on January 24. Both marriages were performed by R. O. Tribble. By 1870, Benjamin and Catherine (HALL) LADYMAN, along with Catherine’s mother, Martha COUCH, were residents of Little Black Township in Randolph County, Arkansas. Living with them in 1870 was a 17-year-old Aaron HALL. Perhaps Aaron was Martha’s youngest son, Franklin HALL? The Ladyman family apparently remained in this area the rest of their lives, and both Benjamin and Catherine (Hall) LADYMAN are buried in the Janes Cemetery. I would like to hear from anyone who might have information about, or an interest in, these families.

QRYTEXT: My great great grandfather Andrew Jackson Luttrell died in Hood County, Texas in 1879. At the time of his death he owned 120 acres of land in Randolph County, Ark. Some of the land was sold in 1892 and the last part of the land(80 acres),was sold in 1896 to G.W. Greer & A.E. Greer. Does anyone know if the Greer's were related to the Luttrells? Would there be a record of the land sale in the Courthouse?

NAME: Charles Shepherd
EMAIL: CharlesCShepherd@yahoo.com
SURNAMES: SHEPHERD
QRYTEXT: Hello, My name is Charles Shepherd and I have been researching the Shepherd family for about four years now. I have gone back to my Great-Grandfather (Elijah Shepherd) and that is as far as I could get. I found out that he died in the Civil War in 1862. He died on a riverboat between Fort Smith, Arkansas and Little Rock. The records that I have states that he was buried on the riverbank and the burial site was not known at the time the record was made. Elijah Shepherd married Rebecca Lynsewiler and they had three sons. Below is a list of some family birth and death dates. If any of this means anything to anyone, I could sure use the help.
(Husband) Elijah Shepherd Born: July 17,1832 Died: December 25, 1862 (Civil War Records);
(Wife) Rebecca Lynsewiler Born: February 28, 1825 Died: April 10, 1914;
(Children) Charles Wesley Shepherd (My Grandfather) Born: December 15, 1855 Died: August 1, 1930;
David Merrion Shepherd Born: April 4, 1858 Died: March 22,1926;
Isaac Matison Shepherd Born: December 22, 1859 Died: (Not Known) 1934.
Charles Wesley Shepherd was my Grandfather. I know that he lived in Randolph County for quite a while. He owned land there and was married in that county to Mary Jane Todd on November 30, 1882. He was 24 years old at the time and she was 19. David Merrion Shepherd also lived in Randolph County. Both he and Charles Wesley owned land there in the late 1800’s.

QRYTEXT: I am looking for obituary or probate information on George WILLIAMS, born sometime between 1760 - 1770, maybe in Tennessee. He died around 1830 by drowning in the Current River in what was then Lawrence County, but is now Randolph County, Arkansas. He would have been in his 60's. There is supposed to be an obituary of the incident somewhere. Also, he may have had a will that was probated around that time. He and his family were probably living at Hick's Ferry at the time. Can anyone connect this man to their family?
