From a special section of the Waldron News newspaper of 23 April 1981, consisting of interviews of Scott County citizens 80 Years of age and over. The interviews were done as part of a celebration of the Bank of Waldron's 80th anniversary.

B.K. & NORA L. HANSARD

B.K. Hansard, born September 3, 1893. B.K. Hansard is now 87 years of age. Traveling from Boaz, Ala. to Mansfield, AR by train took several days back in 1896 when B.K. Hansard and his parents were moving to Parks, Arkansas. The journey continued from Mansfield to Parks by wagon. Mr. Hansard has lived in Parks 82 years now, and has operated a general store and served as Postmaster during those years. Now retired, Mr. Hansard and his wife, Nora, have lived in the same location for 60 years and built a new home there a few years ago. They have three children - Sylvia Wells of Lyndon, KS, Waymon Hansard of Seattle, WA and Isabelle Lewis of Booneville, Ark. Mr. Hansard opened his first account with the Bank of Waldron at age 17, and has banked seventy consecutive years with the Bank of Waldron. Nora L. Hansard was born in Parks, AR on January 8, 1899 to Buck and Sudie Franklin. The wife of B.K. Hansard, she is a housewife. Her church affiliation is Southern Baptist.
