From a special section of the Waldron News newspaper of 23 April 1981, consisting of interviews of Scott County citizens 80 Years of age and over. The interviews were done as part of a celebration of the Bank of Waldron's 80th anniversary.

ETHEL BLACK

Mrs. Ethel Black was born to William & Elzara Pollard on November 12, 1893 in Greenridge, Ark. She has spent her entire life in Waldron living in west Waldron, Blue Ball, Haw Creek and Greenridge communities. Mrs. Black has made her home for the past 57 years in east Waldron. She has a son, Wayne Black, living in Lake Dallas, TX, and a daughter, June Maxwell, who lives in Enumclaus, WA, where Mrs. Black spends some of her winters. Mrs. Black has been a teacher, homemaker and farmer and her church affiliation is Methodist. She attended a one room school in Tate Town and Waldron High School.
