HATTIE DENTON

Hattie Denton was born May 21, 1891 in Winfield, AR. Her parents were W.H. and Rebecca Crutchfield. After living in the Winfield community for 27 years, Mrs. Denton now lives in Waldron. Mrs. Denton was married to W.E. (Lige) Denton, now deceased, and they had one son, Hildon Denton of Waldron. She has been a homemaker and is a member of the First Baptist Church. Living on the farm for 27 years was the highlight of her life. Life was never routine because something new happened most every day - finding a new calf or baby kittens, a little colt or baby chickens. It was during these years she found new life in Christ. Afterwards, her husband, Lige, and one son, Hildon, and she moved to Oklahoma where Lige worked in the oilfields for ten years. After returning to Scott County they carried the mail and passengers to Mansfield for three years, and then Lige took up carpenter work. 90 years this May, her greatest joy has been serving in church with her family; working in the garden and yard, she loves this old earth. But the greatest joy is yet to come; when she goes to be with Jesus and her loved ones forever more.
