From a special edition of the Scott County Advertiser newspaper of 3 April 1991, entitled "A Salute to Scott County Citizens 90 Years and Over." The interviews were done as part of a celebration of the Bank of Waldron's 90th anniversary.


Silas "Pete" Condry was born December 21, 1899 to Monroe and Anna (Suddeth) Condry, near Mansfield. He attended school at Rock Creek and at Mansfield. Pete never married. He is a World War I veteran, and worked for the Rock Island and Frisco Railroads for years. Pete enjoys reading, and has had one of the finest gardens in Mansfield for many years. He is a lifelong resident of Scott County.
