From a special section of the Waldron News newspaper of 23 April 1981, consisting of interviews of Scott County citizens 80 Years of age and over. The interviews were done as part of a celebration of the Bank of Waldron's 80th anniversary.

VIVIAN (PARKER) WAGANER

Vivian (Parker) Waganer, age 86, has been a resident of Pinewood Nursing Home since November 1, 1976. She was born August 21, 1894 in Sebastian County, in a small town called Bell Town, near Washburn, Arkansas. Her parents were Pleas Monroe and Mahalia Adeline Parker. She moved to Scott County at the age of six. Her father died in 1905 and her mother in 1907. Her grandmother Standfill brought her and four other brothers and sisters to Arkansas where they were put in homes of relatives and friends. Vivian lived with her mother's cousin, Mrs. John Elmore at Milltown for three years then she went to live with an aunt in Gerard, Arkansa. Vivian (Parker) Waganer married Waganer March 19, 1911 and they made their home in Logan and Scott County since that time. Their children are - Winfred Waganer of Waldron, Sam Waganer, Addie Carmack of Waldron, Ruby Waganer of Booneville, Graydon Waganer of Oklahoma City, Alton Waganer of Oklahoma City, Alberta Yates of Waldron and John Wagner now deceased. She completed the 8th grade at Washburn, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and attended the Assembly of God Church in Waldron.
