From a special section of the Waldron News newspaper of 23 April 1981, consisting of interviews of Scott County citizens 80 Years of age and over. The interviews were done as part of a celebration of the Bank of Waldron's 80th anniversary.


Wade McCraw, age 92, was born January 17, 1889 in Scott County to Tom Pleasant and Sallie Austin McCraw. He completed the seventh grade at Parks, Arkansas. He has lived all his life in Scott County and has six children - Fuel McCraw of Parks, Arkansas, Flo McGaugh of Waldron, Treva Lacefield of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Maude Holbert of Tulsa, Oklahoma, John McCraw of Parks, Arkansas and Guinn Rhoades of Waldron. Wade attended the Baptist Church at Parks. He was a farmer and stockman. Mr. McCraw states, "I appreciate the cooperation and consideration the Bank of Waldron has given me the past 75 years and hope they are in business another 80 years. Mr. McCraw is a resident of Pinewood Nursing Home.
