DOOLEY CEMETERY
Scott County, Arkansas

The sign above was built and installed by Ivonne Morris in 1999

From Waldron go south on Highway 71 to the Boles community. Turn left on Dooley Road and go approximately 3 miles to Dooley Cemetery Road. Turn left and the cemetery is a short distance on the left. Surveyed and digital photographs made of the tombstones on December 30, 2003 by Delaine and Bob Edwards. If you would like a copy of the photograph of your ancestor's tombstone, please contact Delaine Edwards and it will be sent via E-mail. Please put "Dooley Cemetery Photo" as the subject of your message.

Childrens' names were listed on some of the newer stones; that information is not included here. Most veterans have a military stone in addition to the stone installed by their families; in these instances both stones were photographed and listed.

Notes:
*These stones have only the first name & dates. The surname is presumed to be Barker because of their location in the cemetery.
**These stones have only first names on them, no dates or surnames. A plaque at the cemetery between their graves and those of their parents gives the following additional information from their father, Edward Barker:

Two baby girls and their mother left to right Dora age 40 died Jan 10 1935. May age 10mo died July 21 1913. Lois age 1 year died Aug 25 1922(?) Wife and daughters of Edward H. Barker. I shall go to them but they shall not return to me.

The following information on recent burials was submitted by Carol Vines. Please note that photographs are not available of these stones:
Gattis, Lena, 28 Aug 1961 - 31 Oct 2005, d/o Emma Vines
McConnell, Nancy, d. 6 Apr 2006, d/o Emma Vines
Vines, Emma, d. 26 Apri 2005, age 71, w/o L.D. Vines

Time and the elements have taken a toll on the markers in this cemetery. We found several broken and crumbling stones that are now completely illegible.
