JEANNE A. VALENCIANO

Jeanne A. Valenciano, 75, a resident of Truth or Consequences the last six years, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at Sierra Vista Hospital. She was born April 21, 1927, in Chicago, IL, to William Fred Ballou and Evelyn May (Johnson) Ballou. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her 11 children, Lynn Wagner of West Linn, OR, Laurie Valenciano, Kim Mayer, Jay Bush and Jon Bush, all four of Salem, OR, Donna Collier of Scappoose, OR, Leslie Klug of Detroit, OR, Dale Langley of Waldron, AR, David toeLaer of Killeen, TX, Larry Bush of T or C, and Doug Bush of Independence, OR, 28 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Curtis Bush. Services were held Thursday, Nov. 21, in the Chapel of French Mortuary in T or C with Lynn Wagner officiating. Arrangements were by French Mortuary of T or C Inc.; 505-894-2574.

WILMA FAY VIA

Wilma Fay Via, 75, of Ola died Friday, September 20, 2011, at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. She was born June 19, 1936, in Needmore to the late Usty Edmond and Ethel Alexander Hance. She was nursing aide at Mitchell's Nursing Home and a member of the Ola Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Tom Via; sister, Hazel Robinson, and a brother, Bud Hance. Survivors include her children, Donna and Bud Walker of Russellville, Sammy Via of Ola, Ricky and Nancy Via of Pottsville and Doug and Amie Via of Dardanelle; two brothers, George Hance and Luther Hance, both of Casa; three sisters, Bernice Scruggs of Casa, Betty Tanner of Concord and Lola Smith of Plainview, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Freewill Baptist Church in Ola with the Revs. Bobby Wells, John David KIeeling and Shane Chancellor officiating. Interment will be at Birta Cemetery. Pallbearers are Eddie Joe Lawrence, Ronnie Hance, Charles Hance, Michael Hance, Dennis Smith, Scott Hance, J.R. Haney and Larry Rose. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral home in Danville.

GILBERT VOSS

Gilbert Newell Voss of Greenville went home to be with his Father on the night of March 13, 2006, at Greenville Health and Rehab Center. A celebration of life is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Street Church of Christ under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Randy Daw, James Voss, Ashley Voss and Bradley Voss will officiate. Burial is at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City. The son of Eli and Bessie Gilbert Voss, he was born June 22, 1913, in Dike. He and Juanita Andrews were married May 30, 1935, in Dike and celebrated their 70th anniversary in 2005. Mr. Voss served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a master sergeant. He worked for the railroad, Boles Home, and several entrepreneurial businesses, including “The Handle Man.” Mr. Voss was a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ. He was on the original board of directors for Camp Deer Run and was a former member of Greenville Lions Club. Surviving are his wife of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law, James Newell and Darlene Voss of McKinney; grandsons and their wives Bradley and Shannon Voss of North Richland Hills and Ashley and Ruth Ann Voss of Keller; and great-grandchildren Phoebe Voss and Judson Voss of North Richland Hills and Karis Voss and Kamalyn Voss of Keller. A sister, Elva Scott, preceded him in death. Pallbearers are Keith Thomason, Leon Powers, David Graves, Wayne Wallace, Farrell Nalls and Steve Price. Honorary pallbearers are C.W. Spainhour, J.D. Henson, Glenn Little and Larry McCullough. Memorials may be made to Camp Deer Run, 1227 CR 4590, Winnsboro, 75494 or The Education Department at Abilene Christian University. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
