ELIZABETH EDDY JONES

Elizabeth Eddy was born about 1799/1800 in Tennessee. It is unknown at this time who her parents were, but I feel she was probably connected to the Aday family of Tennessee and Alabama and that Eddy was a variation in spelling of the Aday surname. My reasoning for this is one of her sons was named Levi Bauze Aday Jones and a grandson was named Levi Boaze Eddie Jones (spelling found in military record). Therefore, I believe it's probable that they were named for Boaz Aday.

Elizabeth married John William Jones in the Mississippi Territory in what would later become Madison County, Alabama on September 5, 1815. They had at least nine children and it's possible a tenth child was named Ezra Jones. They came to Scott County in the mid-1840s settling close to the Yell County line in the community of Nola.

Elizabeth and John are most likely buried in Parks Cemetery at Nola in unmarked graves. They were my 4th great grandparents and I am still searching for information on them and their descendants.

Please note this photo is not proven 100% to be Elizabeth, but it was given to me by her 3rd great grandson who inherited the photo from his grandmother, Velma Amy Jones Tade. On the back was written "Great Grandmother Jones." Elizabeth was Aunt Velma's great grandmother.
