ROBERT M. HARRIS

Robert "Bob" Matthew Harris was born December 29, 1868 in Arkansas and died October 29, 1915 in Scott County, Arkansas. He was severely hurt in a cotton gin accident and died that same day. He is buried at Parks Cemetery near Nola. He was the son of Benjamin Christopher (Chris) Harris and Anna Louisiana Ivey. He married Laura Bell Journey December 25, 1888 in Scott County, Arkansas. Laura Bell Journey was born June 12, 1873 in Columbia, Tennessee and died January 18, 1942 in or January 27, 1942 in Waldron, Scott County, Arkansas. She is also buried at Parks Cemetery near Nola, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Elijah F. Journey and Rebecca C. "Dollie" Dark. Bob and Laura Harris had the following children:

1) Ollie Clementine Harris, born May 5, 1891 in Scott County, Arkansas and died February 16, 1961 in Scott County, Arkansas. She married Benjamin Allen Morrow September 1, 1907 in Scott County, Arkansas.

2) Dollie Harris, born October 1894 in Scott County Arkansas and died in Ft. Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas. She married Albert Oller September 16, 1916 in Scott County Arkansas.

3) Bryan Columbus Harris, born January 1898 in Scott County, Arkansas and died June 29, 1929 in Waldron, Scott County, Arkansas. He married Mamie Lovett August 11, 1921 in Scott County Arkansas. He is buried at Pilot Prairie Cemetery, east of Waldron, Scott County, Arkansas.

4) Infant Harris, born and died before 1900 in Scott County Arkansas.

5) Child Harris, born and died before 1900 in Scott County Arkansas.

6) Eligah C. Harris, born May 1900 in Parks, Scott County and died 1950 in Placerville, California, buried Pleasant Valley Cemetery. He married Alta Kemp February 24, 1924 in Scott County Arkansas.

7) Thula T. Harris, born July 1, 1902 in Scott County Arkansas and died June 18, 1999 in Danville, Yell County, Arkansas at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She married (1) Sylvester Curtis Herrin September 6, 1918 in Scott County Arkansas; married (2) Julian Hunnicutt.

8) Frankie Harris, born about 1904 - 1906 in Scott County Arkansas and died September 1, 1949 in Placerville, California, buried Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Burno, California. She married Victor L. Williams July 13, 1922 in Scott County Arkansas.
