BEATY FAMILY LETTER, 1870'S

David Beaty lived in Scott County during part of the Civil War (War Between the States), along with his son Byrum Beaty. The letter itself (see transcript below) has some destruction or water damage on it. Other areas are simply illegible to translate or transcribe. The spelling is exactly like it is written. [sic] simply means I know it is misspelled but left in original state.

Letter early 1870s circa regarding Scott County states, there is little money in Cotton (10 cents). Letter goes on to talk about the cost of milling and making less profit. Then it goes on to say they can't get even 200 dollars for their land.
